No kidding. Cliffs and heights scare the hell out of me. I wouldn’t go anywhere near a cliff.
I would hope that if such a fall happened to me that I could have the presence of mind to do a jack knife followed by a swan just before I hit.
When I was at the Grand Canyon I wouldn’t go near the edge. Its scary.
I suggest if that is your worse fear then you wouldn’t have stupidly been standing that close to the edge or anywhere near it. So your fear is clearly understandable, it is in reality, unfounded. I know because I share that same fear. I won’t go closer than 5 feet, and that is on a brave day!!! LOL
That hadda hurt for a split second anyways. Surprised she wasn’t playing Pokemon.

When I was at the Grand Canyon, at the Navajo Reserve, I had the experience of watching a very fat kid trip. I saw him do a couple of rolls towards the edge. All I could say to my sister was, “Oh my gosh, that kid is round.”
I had visions of him going over, but he was able to stop himself in time.
We might say, "About 400 feet below the point where she had been standing, park rangers located her body."
That is the Bachelorette girl Jo Jo Fletcher. But I think you know that. :-)
I was there before and I was amazed how many people would recklessly stand next to the edge of a 400 foot cliff. It’s just matter of time until one falls.
My personal motto is to never get within 100 ft. of any cliff or roof edge......
Either way, it’s all in the past (be it perfect or otherwise).
The article said she moved to let someone “Squeeze in”. Squeeze in to what? Were they trying to take a group photo on the canyon’s edge?

Not to make light of this poor woman’s death, but my first thought that 400 feet below where she was standing would probably be the rock that supported the cliff she was standing on. Probably best to have just said “400 feet below” and been done with it.
The book store on the rim of the canyon has a book on people killed in the canyon. It is a dangerous place if one is not careful.
This type of tragedy is happening more and more.
