Huckabee, Jindal, Perry, Carson Christie and Paul have endorsed Trump. Rubio said he would support Trump.

It seems to me they have the good of the country and the party in mind.

It also appears to me at least that Cruz, Bush and Graham are full of pettiness, envy and sour grapes. Cruz is the worst, he has an insatiable need for power at all costs.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt since none of us can actually crawl inside his mind. What you’re describing would be a pathological step beyond the narcissism I speculated about. Your description, if true, would pretty much translate into someone who has no conscience — a sociopath who just isn’t capable of feeling empathy for others.

Put another way, it would mean a purposeful and constant faking of his entire spiritual belief system just to fulfill his career ambitions. But beyond that, if that were the case, we would be able to point to all areas of his life, not just his career ambitions. A sociopath fakes his behaviors and feelings quite nicely — they can actually be quite good at it — but to pass from the realm of simple selfishness and narcissism to sociopathy... I just don’t see it.

I just don’t see any evidence in other areas of his life to speculate too deeply on that one. Now, if he ever has the equivalency of the infamous Clinton Body Count following him around, that’s different. :-/

“This was the spin until the voicemails surfaced. Then it was established that the Cruz camp had called all the caucus locations and stated as fact that Carson had “suspended his campaign.” CNN never reported that; it was a lie.”

If you go home and stop campaigning you have ‘suspended’ your campaign.

If you then lay off half your staff ....

And then you drop out ....

The tragedy of Cruz is that he turned his supporters into the same kind of liar he is. You can play the role of pharisaical legalistic hair-splitter all day, but a lie is still a lie. The Cruz camp blasted out the false report to every caucus location that Carson was “suspending” his campaign. CNN never reported that; it was a blatant lie—the first of many.

Here is the link to the Politico article, try this:

I checked the article, it doesn’t address the questions you brought up, but it does have a lot of other relevant info — mostly that Cruz hadn’t truly given up his campaign and is still planning to pull something at the convention.

One more thing... What you are describing touches on what I was talking about with this type of religious-based narcissism and why it is dangerous. Typically, intelligent people are able to use rationalization and intellectualization pretty effectively to justify their actions. If you add a religious-based sense of self-importance, it’s even worse.

The more a person starts believing the whole “I’m God’s face” malarkey ( something that people around him feed and support btw), then the easier it is to start thinking, “Well, the end justifies the means. God is ok with tweaking the delegate rules and stuff because all these Trump people are so stupid and can’t see how I’m the “Anointed One.”

Once a person like that gets into power, it’s hard for them to keep control of their “God-given Superiority,” especially when they’re surrounded by ‘idiot commoners’ like you and me. ;-)

If u read my reply at 257, it sounds pretty much in line with what you may be saying. The distinction I’m making since then, in response to your comment, is pretty much a matter of degree. It comes from my own habit of thinking in terms of how we all fall somewhere on the mental health continuum. (None of us is considered completely “normal” because we all have different circumstances that impacted the person we became as adults).

Crawling back in my hidey hole now... Lol.

I am looking behind the scenes and we still have a problem with Cruz.

He is still scheming and we need to get in from of this and expose this.

Need some researchers, beyond what I can do.

Specifically, how many delegates sit on the convention rules committee.

Is it only 16, only 2 each from 8 states?

Not to be confused with the much larger RNC rules committee.

That was helpful as well. I’m trying to understand someone that fits your description, minus the religiosity, and it’s a fairly accurate description.

Is this knowledge from professional experience or casual study, if I my ask.

What good does it do to nominate a party extremist if they can’t garner enough votes to win a general election?

Open primaries gave McCain and Romney.

How did they do in the general election?

Because of VA’s open primaries, the GOP has been trying to get a loyalty oath for decades. In unfortunate timing, they finally achieved it at the same time there was the brouhaha about candidates qualifying to be on the ballot.

Open primaries make primary results impossible to decipher. I’ve seen neighbors vote in GOP primaries, who will later post the Dem’s posters on their yard.

Open primaries also make determining who the GOP voters are in the precincts impossible. If you don’t know the people personally, you are stuck as a precinct chairman. The best the local party can do is provide the names of those who voted in GOP primaries, so you’re still stuck with the cross-overs who are generally the most hard-core Dems.

Consider the possibility that this is a fake story.

I don't know if I'd call it fake. But it is certainly incompetent.

Consider the OP's hot-button paragraph:

The key discussion points, which will also be the likely flash points during the convention, will include CLOSED PRIMARIES. THIS MEANS DOING AWAY WITH OPEN PRIMARIES AND THE "CONSCIENCE CLAUSE," which will RELEASE CONSERVATIVE DELEGATES FROM SUPPORTING THE PRESUMPTIVE DELEGATE, should that delegate represent views that contradict theirs or the party.

Any idiot, except maybe a Filipina idiot, knows there is no connection between the "conscience clause" and the notion of a closed primary. Also, note the phrase "presumptive delegate", an obvious typo.

Yes, I said Filipina idiot. How xenophobic and sexist of me! But there is no Liezl Dunuan in these United States. However, there is a freelance writer by that name in the Philippines. Christian Post needs to stop with the outsourcing!

No it’s not some filipina problem or fake story. Yes it was a poor write up but the problems remain and the article is correct.

There are additional confirming articles if you would bother to look.
There are multiple issues going on here.

1. Still scheming a backdoor way to change rules for 2016 and open the door to any candidate who has received 1 or more delegates. And take a look at who sits on the rules committee if you want to do some research.

2. Scheming for 2020 to revise the rules and make it more conducive for a party controlled marginal candidate to win.

There’s quite a difference between a) ending open primaries and b) having delegates to the convention not vote for the candidate the people they purportedly represent voted for. I’m in favor of the former, not the latter.

The former. Which is why I should remind you and anyone else reading: I’ve never met the man in person so my opinion is strictly that, an opinion.

But still a well formulated opinion based on plenty of observation. Probably more than transpires with a client. How unusual is that type of personality disorder? Is it correct to assume that it’s more highly concentrated among the ‘male’ population.

I agree with your assessment, stevem.

It’s obvious that Dems and everyone to their left delight in screwing with us. Why give them actual power over who our nominee is?

The ONLY reason I’m registered in the GOP is because California is a closed primary state. I have never donated to the party and don’t intend to. I donate to individual candidates as I see fit.
