Ted Cruz Says Fight Not Over with GOP Convention Nearing (Wants to CANCEL Open Primaries )
Christian Post ^ | May 16, 2016 | LIEZL DUNUAN

Ted Cruz and his allies are preparing for the coming National GOP Convention. According to NBC News, Cruz who recently attended a GOP convention in Texas told his supporters that the days ahead will be "challenging" for the Republican Party. He, however, expressed hope that those who remain loyal to him and the party "will be the remnant, will be the core of pulling this country back from the abyss."

Aside from this pronouncement, [he] has remained mum about whether he will throw his support for presumptive nominee Donald Trump. According to the NBC report, the support of Cruz and his allies in Texas is needed by Trump if he is squaring off with Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for the presidential elections. A Texan party elder, Steve Munisteri said that "Ted Cruz has led a national movement, a conservative movement. We certainly need solid conservatives to be behind our nominee [Trump.]"

... Cruz and his allies in the Republican Party are EYEING TO CONTINUE THEIR FIGHT TO RUN THE PARTY. Despite his failure to win over Trump, ... he is still hoping that when he attends the National Convention,... he will be able to bring about key changes in how the party governs itself and picks its presidential nominee. Aside from changes in rules, the party will also be working out its "official policy platform" as well as "determine how much power the RNC has to make new rules of its own."

>>The key discussion points, which will also be the likely flash points during the convention, will include CLOSED PRIMARIES. THIS MEANS DOING AWAY WITH OPEN PRIMARIES AND THE "CONSCIENCE CLAUSE," which will RELEASE CONSERVATIVE DELEGATES FROM SUPPORTING THE PRESUMPTIVE DELEGATE, should that delegate represent views that contradict theirs or the party.

He ought to get his ashes hauled. He’s getting a little testy and stupid.

Consider the possibility that this is a fake story.

Ted isn't going to get nominated this year, and isn't trying any more.

He has plans for the election in four or eight years and he's not ready to endorse Trump this time, but the fight for this year's nomination is over.

Injected Biblical speech into his campaign is sacrilege and he does this for a reason. Ted is sick. The biblical writers mention at least seven different remnants:

1) Survivors of any catastrophe (e.g., Lot survived Sodom).
2) A group of non-Israelite survivors (e.g., “the remnant of Edom,” Amos 9:12).
3) Israelite survivors of the Assyrian invasion in 721-718 BC .
4) Jewish survivors of the Babylonian invasion in 585 BC .
5) The remnant of Jews who returned to Judah from Babylon.
6) The remainder of physical Israelites and Jews after the Great Tribulation.
7) The remnant of converted sons of God in the last days.

Wonder which one Ted’s sees as equal to the remnant of TeamCruz?

The Texas legislature can't remove him. Federal officers -- senators and congressmen -- can only be removed by loss of an election, resignation, death or expulsion by his particular House of Congress.

The issue of removal by other means has been answered in federal court (Idaho, 1967) and state court (New Jersey, 2013).

It’s not misleading. they are trying to control the party and Cruz has the majority of delegates on the rules committee. These are their ideas that they will put forward in July.

So the Senate would have to bring it up to have him removed?

That shouldn’t be to hard, Mike Lee is the only one in there that likes him, oh and Linda of course, but Mike Lee is being investigated by the Utah State Attorney for his and Harry Reid’s part in the Jeremy Johnson trial here in Utah...

“I am surprised that Gov. Abbott hasn’t went to the State Legislature and asked to have him removed from his Senate Seat.”

I’m not aware of any constitutional mechanism that allows a state legislature to unseat an elected U.S. Senator.

The US Senate could, by a two thirds vote, expel him. However, such an action would not be taken unless some kind of criminal malfeasance came to light.

The Senate has its own way of dealing with senators that are hated by most in that body. It's known as ostracism, executed by handing the annoying senator lousy committee assignments and then finding someone to primary him in his next election.

Okay, maybe he does want to change the rules for next time.

But I wonder how many people started reading and thought that Ted was still angling to get the nomination this time.

That was my first thought, and of course, that's not going to happen.

Google Curly Haugland from North Dakota - several years on the RNC rules committee. It’s the same garbage that he proposes.

The delegates should all vote their conscious.

Primary Elections are only a suggestion by the unwashed masses.

The key discussion points, which will also be the likely flash points during the convention, will include CLOSED PRIMARIES.

************

He’ll have to change the culture in Texas to accomplish the closed primary bit. In Texas
you register vote with the State and on election day you go your polling location, they
check your voter registration and if okay then asked which ballot you want, Democrat or
Republican. You are bound to that party for any runoffs and in two years you get a new
voter registration card and the process starts over.

If he keeps screwing with the people in Texas they may tell him to get his Canadian
butt on back to Canada.
