Gaze into the eyes of Scooter, the new Worlds Oldest Living Cat.
Scooter and his wise old eyes have been around for 30 years, and his achievements in extreme elderliness have now been recognized by Guinness World Records.
Gail Floyd who generously houses Scooter even though he is a grown adult and should probably get his own place said her companion has always been a lively people cat.
When he was a kitten, he would play in Gails hair and ride on her shoulder.
Now, in his golden years, Scooter still rises at 6 every morning.
If he could talk, the Siamese from Mansfield, Texas would probably credit his geriatric vigor to years of travel and indulgence.
Scooter has been to 45 states and enjoys regular servings of chicken, his favorite protein-packed treat.
A cat also doesnt live this long without being spoiled.
Scooter fits in his me-time with the occasional bath and a blowdry.
Hes earned it.
As a Thirtysomething, Scooter has survived five presidencies, all nine seasons of Seinfeld and is probably almost halfway through repaying his student debts.
Scooters achievement eclipses the previous Worlds Oldest Cat titleholder Corduroy, who is only in his late twenties and has a lot to learn about life.
Remarkable!
Good that he is so well taken care of.
Tonkinese.
We work like hell to limit his food intake, but with two kittens and a 8 year old brother, food has to be served.
Looks you like have not been pinged for this important message.
Wonderful!
“Scooter still rises at 6 every morning.”
Bad cat!!!
Whatever company makes the food he eats ought to pay the owner big $$$ to feature Scooter in their ads.
I had a cat who made it to 17. Sister had one who made it to 22.
My Martin, 13 yo DSH/ Gray is as feisty as ever. He has a ling way to go.
My Quatorze, a rescue tortie (I found her trying to catch a rabbit bigger than she was, the vet figured she was 8 months old), made it to (we think) 16 1/2.
Mr. Zippy (dog) is 16 yrs, 1 month and 3 days, still going strong.
She took a trip on the Feliner about a year ago.
We had a meezer that lived to see 25.
So what does he want for his birthday?
Another birthday.
The world’s second oldest cat prefers second place.......
We had two cats that both lived to be 23 years old. The male rescued from the humane society, the female rescued a few weeks later from a bag of newborn kittens someone tossed out on the side of the road. Sam and Daisy grew up together and I think their long life was due to no shots or trips to the vet, just a can of tuna every day and a safe place to sleep and a lot of love. When Sam died of kidney failure at 23, Daisy seemed to be still very healthy, but died a couple of weeks later. We remember their age accurately because Sam was a gift to our daughter on her 6th birthday. She named him Sam after Samuel in the Bible story. All you Bible readers will understand the significance of Samuel to his mother Hannah.
(P.S. Years later, my daughter named her son Samuel as well)
My cat is 21 years old and acts like a kitten.
30!
And I thought our old cat was old when he passed about 6 years ago.
Our cat, Cotton, who started out white and then turned brown after about a year, was a few months short of 25 years old when he passed.
I never saw a cat who enjoyed life more. He would run around and swat toys and crash into walls right up until a week or so before he left us.
We rescued Cotton from a being tossed into the river in a plastic bag as a kitten.
