I voted for Cruz
Me

Posted on 04/26/2016 8:56:07 PM PDT by MacMattico

I voted for Cruz in the NY primary because I thought he was the most conservative candidate. But it's over. Trump is the nominee. Any contested convention with the number of delegates Trump will have will guarantee defeat in November. I will not sit at home either and let the Clintons back into the White House without a fight. I may not have voted for Trump (yet) but he is what I have to work with to defeat the Clintons and save the Supreme Court and that's what I plan on doing starting tomorrow morning. I'm all in, and that's the only way we can save a generation from the Obama/Clinton new world order. I hope some of you can join me that said never Trump. He's so much better than Hillary Clinton and her entourage. I also think Trump will now reach 1237 so let's come together.

With Cruz out I’m aboard. We can’t let the evil witch of the West assume the throne or America will be sold to the highest bidder....

Donald Trump will have to earn my vote.

Trump is known to be a man of his word. You have no worries.

Vote Trump

Welcome aboard and I hope many follow your lead! If we unite, Hillary doesn’t stand a chance.

I honestly lose sleep over it. Nobody knows who he is except himself.

I'm sorry you're losing sleep. But I lose sleep over the prospect of Hitlery in oval office.

Just ask yourself, how could he have built the business that he has built and be a loose cannon?

From what I've read about him over the years he's an obsessive planner. He plans and backup plans and backup plans for the backup plans. Obviously I don't know this for a fact but that fits his pattern of success.

Well this confusing.

If Trump is going to win the old fashion way, and people who voted Cruz are going to continue to vote against Hillary... it seems like this last few days of excoriating and purging Cruz supporters has been a wasted effort.

I had so much more venom to give. There were still a few Cruz supporters and even “others” who hadn’t been driven out of FR yet. And now what, we just let them stay?

I just feel so empty now, like I have no purpose.

Us realists have been making the move from Cruz to Trump for the very reasons you stated - welcome to reality.

Go Trump!

I’m sorry for your loss, but congrats on your honesty and great attitude. Had it been reversed, I’d have joined the Cruz forces to defeat Hillary !

Welcome aboard !

Are you afflicted by the Cruzer sinless syndrome? It’s where Cruz supporters suck their thumbs and view never to support the bad people who beat their guy. One of the symptoms is thinking that a Cruz supporter never uttered a single negative words towards Trump and his supporters and that Cruz and his supporters are sinless.

I voted in PA yesterday and I was a strong supporter of Cruz( even before the primaries started) UNTIL Sunday when he and Kasick made a deal. That did it for me and yesterday I gave my vote to Trump. How could Trump be any worse than the crap we have now.
I voted for Pat Toomey also because he was the only choice we had, sad, sad day.
I still believe Cruz is what I was looking for but he strayed just a little to far.

You are the rare example of a Cruz supporter who can recognize and appreciate the conservatism in candidates not named Ted Cruz. Welcome aboard the Trump train!

I’m surprised how easily FReepers have been sucked in and sold out by the oh so trustworthy mainstream media.

I saw the media and drudge report too. Explain what it means that they threw in together. What is it that they could to stop trump? I know the media said its true.

short sell every stock you own

I listened yesterday to the talking heads on Fox Business and they all consider a recession a huge likelihood.

It is controlled by the Fed, a Fed dominated by Obama picks, and they will definitely crash the economy on any Republican president. And the media will not say a word about 'inheriting a mess'.

While Obama has gotten 8 years to fix an economy still blamed on Bush, any conservative president will be touted as the author of a new depression, and any republican president will be blamed for a recession.

With Hillary, they will used Quantitative Printing to ease along a falsely reported 1% growth.

You know, if I were a betting man, I’d bet the farm Donald Trump will knock himself out to be a very good president, in fact, the best since Reagan, its the way he is.

IF the party really wants to WIN and DT does happen to go to the convention a few votes shy of 1237 ...
Then it will move to nominate by acclamation.
problem solved
But judging by the establishment pundits this morning... they could take their ball and go home.
Third party nonsense
THEY would rather have hrc
That in itself is telling

That is what I was doing before I had to switch to demonizing Cruz.

All these back and forth changes are very confusing.

Just to clarify though, there is still a zero tolerance rule for criticizing Trump, right?

The generalizations don’t work. There was a lot of back and forth, true. But many people, probably on both sides, haven’t participated. And dozens of those that participated from the Cruz side have been banned from this site.

There are still threads trashing Cruz today, but you don’t dare say anything negative about DT, or even post an opinion from Thomas Sowell. Can you imagine Thomas Sowell having a thread pulled on ‘the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web’. Let that sink in. A great conservative thinker had a thread pulled...because of one of his opinions...his article from yesterday was removed...because he didn’t say nice things about Donald Trump. He didn’t lie about the man, didn’t make up stuff, he just pointed out that DT isn’t a conservative. I didn’t take note of the poster of the thread, to see if they got dumped also.

For months it certainly wasn’t a one-way street, but today...recently...if you aren’t all-aboard, you aren’t welcome to share your opinions if those opinions are negative towards Donald Trump. More than once on this site I have seen posted a version of the quote that talks about not liking what you are saying, but defend to the death your right to say it. Today’s version, here...on FreeRepublic...is something like ‘if I don’t like your opinion about Donald Trump, consider yourself self-zotted’. To the delight of dozens, posting zot pics, and relishing in the dissenter being banished.

It is not my site, and the owner can do with it what he wants - I am not arguing with that. Zot’s were always fun - when we were able to find someone that was posing as a conservative, but really here to just make trouble...the admins gave them a voice and gave them a lot of leeway, but at some point the plug had to be pulled. But they were never here to share conservative opinions, just to make trouble.

Who knows, this post may get me banned or suspended. I don’t think so, but this place has changed. I changed my tagline a while back, and I still believe it.
