Scientists from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Glasgow University injected mice with a protein called IL-33 on a daily basis, which resulted in a full reversal in cognitive decline and the symptoms of Alzheimers in a matter of days.
Though the tests have so far been limited to rodents, the team believes it possible that the same technique could be used to treat human patients.
The mice had been bred to exhibit the same kinds of symptoms as those of Alzheimers, though within a week were brought back to their prior cognitive capacities with the protein injections. IL-33 is a protein naturally present in the body, which has been linked to a reduction in the amyloid plaque development that causes Alzheimers and its devastating symptoms.

Tumeric is great for inflammation too. I use it for my bad back.
Tastes like dirt, but I can get 2 tablespoons down before I gag. My doc says it’s not possible to OD on it.
I helps go down if you make a thin paste out of it.
Bob, I have found ginger to be very effective in settling my tummy and minimizing stomach upset.
On weekends I sometimes don’t eat until noon, and ginger settles my rumbling tummy. It’s crazy how well it works.
The reason Columbus failed to find his way to Asia, despite four tries...early onset Alzheimer’s?
My husband recently started cooking with coconut oil. Alzheimer’s is present in his mother’s side of the family.
The cabbage works on the sores for healing them.
Cabbage (and veggies and juices like it) triggers reactions in my condition- unfortunately-
“I’m not a fanatic”
Didn’t mean to imply that at all. Just offering up a piece of information, FWIW.
The key is not avoiding dementia because it will come if it comes.
The key is learning to cope with it.
thanks for the advice
I find that many people enter into despair when dementia shows up. That just makes the problem worse.
After watching family members battling it, I found there are some things that make dementia worse
1. Reclusiveness
2. Poor diet, lack of fluids
3. Refusing to accept the dementia
4. Avoiding analytical work such as figuring out what day it is
My aunt is a case study on how to make it worse. She refuses to even try to figure out the day or date. She is frequently dehydrated which adds confusion. I tried to get her to watch HGTV but she ends up watching movies which just confuse her even more. She blames everyone else for her confusion.
Didnt mean to imply that at all. Just offering up a piece of information, FWIW.
I'm sorry that it didn't come across as I meant, I was attempting levity, not anything else.
So we’re good, right?
You Bet!
You made those last years have real meaning and purpose for him. God bless you.
It is also beneficial for diabetics in that it prevents steep blood glucose spikes after eating carbs.
One of the healing aspects of cabbage is the fermented form found as saurkraute in Germany or Kim Che in Korea. The fermentation organisms have good nutritional and healing properties. I don’t like them either but have found that Kefir, a fermented milk product is also very high in these healing probiotics. Try Kefir—found at Trader Joes, Harris Teeter, and Giant. Haven’t checked others but it is generally in the Yogurt area. Several different brands available, some with different organisms than others, also flavored. If you don’t have milk/yogurt issues this might work for you. Try different brands with different organisms. Some are better for one condition some better for others.
I tried to keep my husband engaged. He liked to work, and in addition to going to our land to build the cabin, he would take a broom outside and sweep the sidewalk from one end of the block to the other. However, one day he reached the point where he forgot to come back and just keep sweeping. I called the police and they found him sweeping 10 blocks away. I could never let him go out alone again. He was sociable, ate my good food, water and vitamins. As his memory shortened he forgot his previous resentments and angers. I never tried pushing the analytic work, but instead of watching the intricacies and speed of football and basketball, he could follow soccer for a while and golf until the end. Even though for the last year he could only say 2 or 3 words together, one day we were watching a speech by a politician and he said very emphatically Bull Shxx, and I must say he was right on with his analysis.
If the blaming has a paranoid quality, you might ask the doctor about using Respiradol.
Her blaming is more linked to denial.
She is obsessed with her meds and trying to understand them. She even tried to draw pictures of them but she can’t understand “Take 1 per day in the morning”. It either baffles her or she resents not having control.
But when she goes to the Dr and he asks if she takes any medication, she always says she doesn’t take anything. “Do you take any medications?” “Nope”. Then she’ll immediately ask them about a medicine she is taking.
