Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
And I’m wearing shoes, because it’s trash day and I’ve been out to the curb a couple of times.
65 degrees, SW @ 12, 31%, clear
So THAT’s what happens when you have shock treatments... hmmm.
I survived the night, but I’m tired this morning. *whine-whine-whine*
Today, I was going to get my hair recut, but I wanted to wait until the money for the sock monkey came out of my account. Nothing yet...maybe later today.
The sun isn’t up yet, but it’s getting light to the east, so I can soon open my curtains. YAY! Sunshine! But it’s only going to be 77 degrees today. Dang. I sure want summer. I’ve packed my jacket, but for three days this week, I’ve regretted that decision.
Summer clothes are prettier, but they are too cold for the weather we’ve been having.
Good Morning ‘Face.
The Sun is out intermittently so it is nice and warm.
Had a few problems (Work) today, hope to see you later. :)
Frank wants summer, too!
Clear weather at last. Now we will get a dose of sweltering heat. Summer will arrive later today, for about the fourth time this year.
Believe it or not, I walked around the property. I think I can do that every other day without too much difficulty. I hope.
I have a couple of 2# hand weights, but I need to get some strength in my arms before I take them on my walk! LOL!
For some reason, I want to take a nap. :o|
Smart man, Frank! I’m glad he is “swimming,” because at least he is learning how to stay afloat. :o]
The sunbeam has hit Jake’s bed, so that’s it for him until after noon. Most of the hoomin are going to the library in a little while.
The sun is up and is trying to come in my door, but because the door faces north, there is only a sliver of it for a few minutes this time of year. However, it will soon come in the window!
Charlie is going shopping today, so the peeps won’t be as much fun, unless LuDean is back from her week away.
There aren’t enough hours in the day...
Nope. Beneath my dignity is A LOT lower!
I’m wearing a really cool shirt today. It says, “when You’re Hot, You’re Hot.” It was a gift from a really good friend. Are you jealous, yet, that you don’t have one?
Only in your case, more shapely?
I’m glad to be a safe distance from you two today!
Trip to the library accomplished. Gas in the car so Tom can drive to the far-off campus for his interview. Batch of stuffed peppers in the oven. I didn’t get any yesterday.
Lip synching Addio del passato bei sogni ridenti
Aw, cuteness kitteh!
Stuffed peppers have been eaten. Now Jake and I are ready for naptime.
You STOLE that from me!! *gasp*
Oh. Wait. Yours doesn’t have lumps in it so it has to be yours, not mine. Mine has apples in the pockets...
LOL! We’re a safe distance from each other, actually, just in case. :o])
Stuffed peppers sound very good! Maybe next time I go to Wally’s I’ll see if I can find some in the freezer.
Enjoy your naps!
Cute little floof!
Too early for naps yet. I think I’ll find Kathleen and take her outside to look for puddles for a while. Before she outgrows her Frozen rain boots!
