Fans have been left shocked by disturbing footage of John Lennon mocking disabled people.
The Beatles legend was an inspiration to many, but over the years his darker side has been revealed - and TV show It Was Alright In The 1960s has brought him back under fire.

It’s never been a secret that John was very conceited, sel centered and immature. It’s not hard to guess how he got that way, being somewhat selfish by nature plus being idolized higher than Elvis was at his height of fame. I’m not that surprised.
After John made the ‘More popular than Jesus’ statement, I heard reports of people destroying their Beatle records, even burning their (plastic!) 45’s. I think this happened on a weekend. By the begining of the next week, John had walked it back and was ‘splainin’ his ‘real meaning’.
Their manager at that time, Brian Epstein knew this was not good for their image. They still hadn’t gone full out
psychedellic just yet. Yoko was not yet around for John to impress with his rude behavior.
[our]national motto should be, You owe me an apology.
LOL! that is true, very well said.
Frank Gifford recalls that he saw Reagan had his arms around Lennon's shoulders, explaining the rules of the game to him, and that Lennon was excited like a little kid.
There's one writer who thought, towards the end of his life, Lennon became a Conservative and would've voted for Reagan if he could've voted.

Jeeze, I hope these “offended” folks never see an “Amos and Andy”.
Used to drive a van with ‘ask me about Stephen King’ bumpers stickers plastered all over it. Haven’t seen that in awhile either.
As an old person I can tell you that that was normal humor in the old days.
It would have been more beneficial to him if he had become a Christian.
Imagine... that!
Until about 15 years ago, everybody I knew made fun of disabled people.
Whatever.
More like he was a fundamentally mean and evil person who showed an occasional nice streak.
What a bunch of crap. He could easily have given away his $40 million and had no possessions! Yet he kept his possessions and parroted the commie line.
Jeepers, I hate a hypocrite, and it seems liberals are the worst!
I'll never forget that morning. My clock radio went off (the radio, not the buzzer - I'm a light sleeper so never needed it), and the news station WTOP began with the Lennon/McCartney's "Norwegian Wood" (I once met a girl, Or should I say, She once met me...), followed by the news of Lennon's death.
I jumped out of bed! "WHAT?!" Man, that was unbelievable!
80%. Wow! I’d love to read your source for that figure.
The Beatles were, are, and will always be a cultural touchstone. This video has been on YT for at least 5 years. It was Lennon reacting to the criticism that the Beatles were musically simplistic. They were quite obviously, not.
Reminded me of when Elvis died, I didn’t have access to TV on that day, but I was driving and I noticed every station was playing Elvis music, I figured that he must he croaked, and of course I was right.
This footage wasn’t secret or hidden. It was included in the Beatles “Anthology” TV show that was televised in 1995.
