Fans have been left shocked by disturbing footage of John Lennon mocking disabled people.
The Beatles legend was an inspiration to many, but over the years his darker side has been revealed - and TV show It Was Alright In The 1960s has brought him back under fire.

Your comment is an example of what I mean--hypersensitivity over something benign, Lennon just being a cut-up. And, the audience was not "egging him on." That was the Beatles. Those kids were screaming in adoration of the band. You may recall kids--especially girls--screamed that way everywhere those guys went.
I think that statement was more about the mentality of Beatles fans than it was on John’s view of religion.
He said they were more popular than Jesus as a joke, and it was almost 16 years before he was shot.
My favorite bumper sticker from the 70’s.
Hire the handicapped-
They’re fun to watch.
And John and Yoko did a song called, "Woman Is the Nigger of the World."
The killer was targetting Lennon and had traveled all the way across the country to find him. The motive was essentially a stalker-type obsession with his celebrity, similar to why Reagan was targetted.
I agree. I’ll even go further and add that in the 50s and 60s most of America was not politically correct either. At least not by today’s standards.
LOL!
Yeah, me either.
Or Gallagher’s joke, “I have nothing against handicapped people, if it wasn’t for them, I’d never find a parking space.”
Young people do stupid, crazy antics stuff all the time. Big effin deal...
Also Jerry Lewis played “The Crazy Professor”— are we gonna excoriate him too for that role? Puhlease-—
He meant you and me, not him
So which Lesbian was Chapman trying to impress?
Anyway, I did not interpret that footage as "mocking disabled people". I just saw a musician having fun on stage with the audience and they seemed to love it.
And telling me I need to get glasses, are you mocking me for my bad eyesight?
If so, no problem. I don't take offense.
Oh, I remember - I was a product of the 60s teens. However, I was never a big fan of the Beatles. I couldn’t understand the popularity of some of their stupid songs like, “We All Live in A Yellow Submarine,” or “I Want To Hold Your Hand, they really had some stupid ditties in the beginning. I much preferred Elvis songs.
So did his wife. A weird couple.
No, not mocking you - just wondering if you saw what others saw and for the record - my eyesight isn’t the greatest either - so I certainly wouldn’t mock yours.
“I still dont get how over consumption or addiction of anything gets you free benefits. If you want more of something, subsidize it.”
Tell me about. A guy that I knew in a large city nearly wrote a book about how to “get into the system”, based on watching how his roommates gamed the system. Basically, it went like this: Overdose enough that you have to go the Emergency Room. Once there, you’re in - you will NEVER have to work another day - free food, housing, health care. The key is to be brought back from just short of dead - if you don’t do that and you are able-bodied, they want nothing to do with you.
I’ve heard just showing up drunk or high to work a few times would work too.
