What I find “disturbing” is how easily upset and offended our pansy world has become.

so right-- from that video whats the big deal? He's having a little fun. Who is to say he's making fun of disabled people? Maybe he's making fun of himself in jest?

Christian recognize everyone as imperfect. We are all sinners. Being a Christian does not make anyone perfect, so the condition is universal. John Lennon behaved badly? It's not surprising.

Of course, Liberals tend to think that people can be perfect. If we construct perfect little environments, then people will grow up perfectly. That flies in the face of what Christians have known for thousands of years.

Lennon happily imagined a world without heaven above us. But would the Liberals really like that world? It would be a world in which many people would laugh at the less fortunate.

Christian make the world better (but not perfect).
Liberals just make the world worse.

When I was a young teen in the mid 1960s our NYC radio station played a song “They Are Coming to Take Me Away”. It was supposedly a song about people who were mentally ill. The DJ got fired for playing it. If I had known then that John Lennon mocked disabled people, my huge crush on him and the rest of the Beatles would have dissipated.

We already knew he beat his first wife and he even admitted it early on and based song lyrics on it. Whether he atoned for it properly or completely is up for debate. So it seems strange to think he’s a worse human being because of something insignificant compared to that.

Anyone know the motive for the killer’s action?

My theory is that Yoko knows something about it that she's not telling anyone.

What do you mean 60 years later? He hasn’t been gone 60 years. I asked a question - and that’s it. What is your point in asking me? I have the freedom to ask anything I want. I didn’t start this thread - so why don’t you direct your question to the OP, instead of trying to be all snarky with me?

The left just looks for things to be upset about. It just has to suck to be them..always offended with their self righteous indignation.

I still don’t get how over consumption or addiction of anything gets you free benefits. If you want more of something, subsidize it.

Yeah, sure. That's it.

Show me one time he was ever self-deprecating.

More complicated than that. He wrote the song Revolution which incensed liberals at the time because of its essentially conservative message. He ended up apologizing for it and swung much further to the liberal and anti-war side as he got more deeply involved with Yoko in the years after that. There was an article a couple years ago that friends of his were saying he liked Reagan and may have been swinging back to a more conservative side.

**Isn’t he the one who said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus right before he was gunned down?**

They said that back around 1966. Lots of their records were publicly burned, they apologized and the money started flowing again.

Wow.

Some people are easily offended.

Just yesterday we had an old episode of Law and Order on. A character said the word “nigger.”

While the phrase is not one I ever used with any frequency, it was like hearing fingernails on a black board.

I was not “outraged.” I looked at the date on the show, said something about how times have changed, chuckled a little and moved on.

Just because something is on TV now doesn’t mean what they did was offensive at the time it was filmed. We do not have to pretend to be shocked. There’s been 50 years to be shocked.
