Fans have been left shocked by disturbing footage of John Lennon mocking disabled people.
The Beatles legend was an inspiration to many, but over the years his darker side has been revealed - and TV show It Was Alright In The 1960s has brought him back under fire.

He did indeed help the disabled but his characters often made fun of morons.
Do you remember when one of the DJs on WABC sang Happy Birthday to commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? I believe he was fired as well. He turned up on an FM station in the 70s.
What could possibly go wrong?
My wife thought this was funny so I defer to her sensibilities. I miss her so. Miss John as well.
Here's one for people to figure out. In 1972 Hurricane Smith had a hit song "Oh babe what would you say" and it sounded like Jerry Lewis singing in his earlier falsetto comedy acting voice.
I’m not recommending it...just that it does work.
Yep, I used to have links to that on an old computer. IIRC for a short time he would run around the Dakota exclaiming "Praise the Lord!", and "Thank you Jesus!" Yoko however, would have NONE of it.
What was that verse about causing little ones (baby Christians?) to stumble?
That's exactly right. Maybe some of you were the picture of compassion and political correctness as adolescents, but growing up in the 50's and 60's it was common to joke around with your friends about being "retards" or making fun of some mannerism of theirs as if they were "retarded". I don't say this proudly, but rather to my shame and I have raised my children to be better than that. But still, it was how almost every one acted in those days.
I suspect Lennon was a product of his time just as we all are, except he also tended to be a jerk and egotistic to boot. But it is unreasonable to judge people's standards in an earlier age unless you factor in the times he lived in.
No I didn't hear about it. 1975 I assume. I was in my senior year at high school.
I do remember hearing Cheech & Chong’s Sister Mary Elephant though LOL. Two more guys got away with pushing the edge in their day Hudson and Landry. Very tame stuff compared to now.
Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
We're not allowed to mention Christianity any more. Now we have political correctness and death threats online and federal punishment for life.
And you'll say that U.S. taxpayers are funding an organization that sells baby parts.
You could get something like this on every single person on the planet. No really what if a camera recorded every joke you make with your friends, off color sillyness.
The question is why after he is dead to do it to them
Music can be likeable. But most people are somnambulent. In their shallow morality, they listen to lyrics mocking love and think nothing of it. They were not believers.
Hmmm, let’s see, these videos (tapes) have been out for over 40 years...and now people are offended and pi$$ed?
I’m sorry, but this constant “I’m offended” shtick is getting F’ing old!
Sorry dude...GET OVER IT! This guy was in his twenties back when he did this. We’ve all did or said dumb things...INCLUDING YOU!
First of all - I’m not a DUDE and I don’t have to get over anything. I found it tasteless and crude and I’m entitled to my own opinion. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. I love people on this forum who bash the left for their tyrannical views, then try to tell those of us on this forum what to do. It doesn’t work that way.
You sound like a whinny, perpetually offended Liberal; put that in your pipe and smoke it.
I wish we had tapes of your entire life to view and cast judgments upon you for something you did or said.
But I’m sure you’re perfect and are without fault...right?
Like I said before...get over it!
