Firenado! 800,000 gallons of Jim Beam
Daily Mail ^ | 9/4/15 | Darren Boyle

A Jim Beam warehouse in Kentucky was struck by lightning releasing 800,000 gallons of bourbon into a nearby lake. Then, the lake was hit by a 'firenado' setting the inflammable liquid alight.

The firenado was caused when a bolt of lighting hit the ground setting a fire which was in the path of a tornado, which sucked up the flames, creating a terrifying spiraling inferno.

That was my thought, too.

Exactly. The majority of the stuff is only 40% alcohol, with small batches getting up to 64.6%.

Flammable, yes.

Inflammable, not really.

Guess you two are too young to remember when gasoline tankers were marked "INFLAMMABLE".

The Jim Beam warehouse was hit by a tornado on April 3, 1974. I guess tornadoes like the stuff.

No I remember, it just temporarily threw me for a loop.

I remember 19 cents/gal for gas, 25 cents for milk and 28 cents for a pack of smokes.....I'm old enough ;)

And the local WOMEN’S TEMPERANCE UNION sang...SHALL WE GATHER AT THE RIVER, and everyone in town wanted to get baptized several times.

Impregnable means “not pregnable”, which doesn’t fit with high school health class.

Reminds me of the movie WHISKEY GALORE. Except that whiskey went down in a ship.
