Did I hear Rush Right? Don't let Trump's views bother us 'Cause RNC said Bush, McCain, Romney OK
September 3, 2015 | Vanity

Posted on 09/03/2015 12:43:44 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Did I hear Rush say that we should be willing to vote for Trump even with all of his baggage and left leaning positions and support for Democrats!?

He said the RNC told us to support McCain and Romney (and I think he threw Bush in there) so we should have no trouble supporting Trump.

That's some kind of rallying cry for conservatives.

So would someone please tell me what Trump stands for (other than saying he'll build the fence and deport gang members), and why (other than you want to believe that he has changed) why anyone would trust him.

I'll give you 2 reasons why I know Donald Trump finds it easy and appropriate to lie. (Current history - I'll leave the long, documented list of his liberal ideological positions aside for this exercise, along with Trump's long, documented list of his support for elected Democrat leaders.)

1. He lied (more than once despite it having been proven a lie) that Wisconsin was doing poorly and that it was because of Scott Walker.

2. He lied about a Walker supporter coming to him asking to take him on to his campaign because he wanted to leave Walker.

And here is a third because it is about FReepers willing to repeat lies about candidates to promote their candidate.

If you believe that your candidate is the best thing for the country, then there should be NO REASON to actively spam threads of other candidates with lies.

Your turn.

His presser kicked butt today. He talked freely about what we care about.

I want a winner who will do something. A person who cannot win will be unable to do a damn thing.

You might as well be. If the Wills were not supporting Walker, they would support Jebbie.

That is a flat out lie.

You use that line a LOT.

So, for the sake of arguement, which other candidate(s) "wants to ship the wetbacks back home..."?

I'm serious. Not being sarcastic.

The Republicans ruined their brand, their front runner is on record sayin' HE WANTS TO WIN WITHOUT THE CONSERVATIVE VOTE.

So this is a fight to the death, Trump is a pompous YANKEE blowhard and a populist. However he is the best liar I've ever seen OR he really means it when he says gloBULL warming is a hoax, America gets it ass handed to it on trade, illegals(invasion) are a blight on the country.

Well to their credit RINOs don't lie; they will continue on the lesser Progressive trail if elected. With Trump I MAY get some really good things.

I could and probably will be disappointed but at least I got to stick to the RINO establishment, and that is worth everything.

To Rush's point, he saying that the RINO battle cry was for moderation, the Conservatives need to "grow up" and vote for them. So screw that, now we have an unPC jerk in Trump that will pee on their Rovian Parade.

I would not insult anyone by saying that! : )
Just that voting for Jeb is throwing the election to the democrats. Not that the republican party would care.

There will be a name for this when the Strumpettes (at least some of them) regain their senses: Battered American Syndrome.

Totally weary of being ignored by John McCain, Willard, Reince Priebus, Mitch McConnell, John Barleycorn Boehner, the RNC and by being crapped all over by each and every one during the Obozo fascist ascendancy, they will take any old leftist POS in GOP drag who talks dirty, talks nasty, is boorishly rude and gives them attention on the border almighty.

This is what happens when all the GOP cares about is fattening corporate bottom lines. They appear to have decided that Willard's manners were the problem. And this on a day when a decent Christian woman was jailed by a federal black-robed tyrant named Bunning for faithfully following the Scriptures. The Rump was asked about her at his press conference, and, of course, dodged the question and claimed no knowledge.

I’m glad to see you are finally coming over to Trump as Walker is now polling at 3% in the new Monmouth poll out today.

At what point did you finally leave the Perry sinking ship in 2012? Time to jump on the Trump train and realize what its like to back a winner. :-)

Trump is an all around fraud as is Rush, Hannity, the RNC, and the rest of the GOP

Anything in YOUR background that would make you a hypocritical fraud?......You know there is. LOL!

I don't think we really know what any of them will do once in the White House. We have been disappointed by many and satisfied with few.

I will never vote for Jeb Bush, I gave in on Romney but I will NOT vote for Jeb. I see Jeb as the slightest bit better than Hillary. Jeb is better than Hillary on pro-life but I would almost say that Hillary could be pushed to stand against immigration before Jeb would. Jeb is hardcore open borders. If Trump isn't republican, then we must also say that Bush isn't.

Rush did say one thing about Trump that I found interesting. It was loosely - *I've met Trump, what you see is what you get, Trump is like this in real life*. I don't see Trump as a phony. What we're seeing is what it is. I sincerely think Trump came to dislike Obama immensely, Obama caused many to re-think their ideas and positions on politics.I do believe Trump loves this country. Jeb doesn't seem to show a loyalty to this country and that reminds me of Obama.

I listen to Rush and I like him pretty well but he's not my favorite. I've not heard Rush push Trump. Rush hasn't tried to destroy Trump but why should he? The more Trump talks and the more that glom onto Trump--it only better paints the picture of how fed up the American people are with politics as usual.

I'm for Cruz.

Your are going to get a leftist of another kind anyway. I like Cruz, but he isn’t even going to get the nomination. Sorry, but his Senate post has ruined that for him.

THANK YOU! You’re the only one capable of speaking to the context, since you not only heard Rush deliver the remark but heard the context, which explained why he delivered it!

Missing the point is a full time job for a few around here.
Thx, Rita

And then I come to FR and see almost everyone here supporting him. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. PLEASE clue me in, everyone! I feel like I’m missing something obvious here.

No where near everyone on Free Republic is supporting him. It is a very vocal minority of sTRumpettes that is spamming as many threads as they can. Yes there are quite a few that are not sure about him, but more of us realize that he is the consummate RINO.

Hang tough.
