A prophet may not be honored at home, but a politician needs to be. At least if he hopes to prevail.
A new poll hints Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
has a bit of a problem in his home state of Texas.
Donald Trump is now the frontrunner there, according to the latest survey. Trump now polls at 24 percent in Texas, roughly what he gets nationally. Cruz drops to second in his home state with 16 percent. Longtime Texas Gov. Rick Perry is a non-factor, polling just 4 percent alongside Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
The poll, commissioned for a group called the Texas Bipartisan Justice Committee, was conducted by Gravis Marketing. Its the first such survey since June, when Trump was just getting into the race. Back then Cruz polled a solid 20 percent, and Perry seemed a threat at home with 12 percent.
In the months since, of course, Perry has repeatedly targeted Trump, especially over immigration policy. Those attacks would seem to have backfired for Perry, whos keeping up a travel schedule but is struggling even to raise enough money to pay his staffers.
Texas will hold its primary on Super Tuesday, March 1, along with nine other, mostly southern states.

Cruz is a fine communicator. Don’t give up too easily. We are a long way from voting.
None of these numbers are as reliable as long as the media is giving Trump unlimited exposure.
Yup. A poll is about a billion miles from an actual vote.
I remember when all the polls said John Kerry was pretty much guaranteed to beat Bush in 04.
I personally don’t see this as a problem. I am clearly (and have been) a Cruz supporter first. Always will be.
Frankly, I think I’d want to see some specifics of the poll or circumstances or whatever (if I really cared at this point.)
I’ll admit I was surprised at first, but when you take in Trump’s celebrity factor and the publicity he has received over immigration, it is actually predictable.
I would imagine immigration is a big issue in Texas, and while Trump and Cruz have the same policies, Trump has owned the issue in the media.
Don Trump is a nationwide phenomenon, so why is this surprising?
BECAUSE.. it’s dishonest.. Trump is using Cruz’s ideas..
except for the UN-constitutional enhancements he proposes..
TRUMP is a COPY-CAT... some people do not like that..
Democrats/RINOs however could care less..
..and take New York.....any views/comments....?....thanks in advance
That is what I’m hoping for, for all the reasons you list.
AG-can u imagine what he could do to expedite deportation?
................................................
AND what he could do to put some VERY IMPORTANT people behind bars!
That’s still more or less what it means.
Cruz didn’t steal Trump’s ideas on trade.
Last I checked Trump was saying raise the import tariffs or renegotiate the trade deals at least as early as 2011.
And Cruz was wanting to give Obama carte blanc to negotiate new job killing free trade agreements early this year. At least at the last moment Cruz changed his mind saying he didn’t know Obama had put immigration and other stuff in the trade deal.
Cruz doesn’t have a monopoly on other conservative views either. I don’t think Trump is stealing anybody’s ideas. Trump is selling Trump ideas. Any similarity to another candidate is purely coincidental.

Trump/Cruz is how I read it too.
Trump is better at throwing RINO’s out windows.
Cruz knows who to trust and who NOT to trust.
Plus Cruz gets some national exposure/training after 4 years as VP
Trump will never see Texas. By then Cruz will get all Trump’s supporters.
“Plus Cruz gets some national exposure/training after 4 years as VP”
What I’m thinking is Trump would only be a one termer, he’s getting older. This might be the only way to get Ted.
That’s the way I see it.
The media is awfully quiet about the mountains of dirt they have on Trump that would be used against anyone else.
If Ted Cruz had once said that he didn’t want black guys counting his money, the media would be on it like a swarm of angry hornets.
it’s still way early
Don’t look good. He should of already had them.
