Jim Carrey calls Gov. Brown a 'fascist' for signing new vaccination law
Los Angeles Times ^ | July 1, 2015 | By Veronica Rocha

Posted on 07/01/2015 11:42:58 AM PDT by BenLurkin

California Gov says yes to poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in manditory vaccines,” he said. “This corporate fascist must be stopped.”

He went on to say the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is corrupt because they “can’t solve a problem they helped start.”

Carrey, who lives in Los Angeles, said he does not oppose vaccines, but is rather “anti-neurotoxin.” He believes vaccines should be free of chemicals and certain compounds, such as mercury and thimerosal.

“All we are saying is, 'Take the neurotoxins out of the vaccines.' Make them toxin free. History will show that that was a reasonable request.”

I don’t care if people are pro or anti vax. I actually think there are good reasons to be on both sides of this coin. I don’t mind having a rational discussion about those things. But I will not stand for the gov’t forcing vaccines.

Vaccinations are used to help eradicate contagious diseases. It is a noble cause but sometimes abused by government agencies. When I was six years old, they gave me a booster shot to prevent polio. To this day, I still have a huge round scar around my upper right arm. Vaccines should not ever cause scars on children.

______________

Would probably not agree with him on a lot of political points.... but here his thinking is perfectly in sync with mine..

I do believe strongly in vaccines...and strongly against the state imposing it on you ...

you need the option to say NO to a product on the market else it has no reason to maintain proper quality control...is the same reason to opposed Obamacare..

if you are FORCED to buy or use something.

then there is no incentive for the maker to make

something you would WANT to buy or use

...the right to say NO...is the ultimate quality control on any product...

The end user of any product is the final QC inspector...call them "Inspector 100".with their money as stamp of approval....

and they should have full authority to reject a product as they see fit if it done not meet their standards

When I was a child they passed around a handful of mercury for us kids to hold and play with.

We used to break open old thermostats to play with the mercury. It was fun stuff to play with.

Gov. Brown isn’t a ‘fascist’ because of this vaccination law.
He’s a fascist because almost everyting he does.

Which children’s vaccines do you think contain mercury or thimerosal? I’ll give you a hint, there aren’t any.

You need to come to california - there are rich white enclaves like Marin and Venice where a majority of the kids are unvaccinated because parents fear autism.

I somewhat agree with you, but there's still no excuse for having an 18th century aversion to vaccination and medicine, and for believing the anti-vax mumbo jumbo.

It's largely a leftist movement; the Prius driving granola crowd are the anti-vax base. But there's pockets of it across all groups and ideologies, much like anti-Semitism, another ancient fear borne out of myth and superstition.

Yes. But consider: 1. I suppose we'd agree that it is appropriate for government to step in against the rights of the parent if the parent is, say, boiling his child in hot water. This would be an intervention in a case of COmmission.

2. We'd likely also agree that if a rate of 100% of village children sent to the village playground were being eaten by tigers during the month of June, and that in July, most parents stopped sending their children to the playground, but Sally nevertheless sent her child to the playground, (where we were all entirely confident that Sally's child would be eaten by a lion), that we'd want government to intervene with the child.

The lives saved by vaccines is a very, very large number. The lives saved from non-lethal illnesses is a very, very large number.

I don't have the data at hand, but my sense is that being anti-vaccine is close to legal parental negligence, on the basis of statistical numbers. I'm on the side of the parental choice here, but the anti-vax parent is engaging in high risk negative outcome behavior here, based on my study of the numbers.

And, sadly, in the Christian and home-school crowds.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that death rates are higher from the diseases than the vaccines. When the whole measles “outbreak” thing was going on I looked into the numbers of death and permanent injury for both the disease (in the 20 years prior to a vaccine) and the vaccine (the last 20 years). I don’t recall the exact numbers either anymore. The percentages for both disease and vaccine were VERY low; fractions of a percent with death/injury from disease being orders of magnitude higher than vaccine, but still fractions of a percent. Of course this is just one disease, but it’s one of the more controversial vaccines. If the vaccine were 100% never ever any kind of reaction or side effect from it I probably wouldn’t have as much of a problem with a forced vaccine requirement. But, I don’t think you can force someone to trade one health risk for another, regardless of the statistical chance of harm from either. So, if a parent wants to face the (I’m kind of making these numbers up because as I said I don’t recall the exact numbers, but just to give you an idea) 0.05% chance of death or permanent injury from measles versus the 0.005% chance of death or permanent injury from the measles vaccine I cannot fault them for that.

In addition to that, do so reading up on the ongoing (as far as I know) investigations into Maerk and them fudging the numbers on the effectiveness for their MMR vaccine. The gov’t gave them sole license for MMR vax production if they could keep the effective rate up 95%. 2 whistleblowers are claiming they aren’t meeting those numbers. And another whistleblower is claiming they’re hiding the statistics showing a link between the MMR vax and autism specifically in black boys. Interested to see what comes of these investigations.
