Yes, it was funny, but false. It's being presented as serious. Not as humor. I'm just getting tired of FUD.

Anyone who believes a Mexican with no teeth cackling on a foreign TV show is an ex-Apple engineer and that Apple engineering forgot to carve out port openings in a presentation to the CEO deserves what they get.

You'd be surprised what people will believe. ;^)

Looking at that Mexican, I suspect he needs to see one of Swordmaker’s clients.

At one time, yes. Not anymore. On the other hand, there's that old saying, you can't wake someone up who's pretending to be asleep. : )

He needs a good set of dentures or some implants. . . Even a bad set would help.

They need this to succeed, and while I’m not in the market (nor will I ever be, unless they put a Star Trek style food replicator in there) or have a cent to spend on such stuff, I’d be surprised if it doesn’t take off at least a little bit. Where they beat the world is 1) integrating their different platforms and 2) profit margins. The seemingly endless market share decline for the Apple phones led to the current situation, where Apple has most of the profits of the entire smart phone business, and second place is noplace at all. :’)

“My wife just bought the new Mac book and has had nothing but troubles. Has been on the help line for many hours...many days.... it’s now on the way back to the service center in a pre paid package.

She is NOT happy.”

Wow, just WOW! Considering it doesn’t ship until April 10th, that’s an amazing accomplishment by your wife.

Seriously Brother, let’s leave the lies to the ‘RATS. Lying does not become FReepers; we deserve better of ourselves.

A little harsh on the lying accusation. She just bought a new Mac book within the last month and it’s a piece of garbage.

I don’t know one Apple from another but do know it’s in a box on its way back to get fixed after eating hours on the help line and continuing to have problems.

I too have drunk deeply of the Apple kool-aid. In my family/business we are up to (in current use):

3 Macbooks
1 Macbook Air
5 iPads
7 iPhones
3 iMacs
2 Mac Pros
2 Mac Minis
1 Apple TV
2 iPods
1 Airport/Time Machine

I even own stock.

While I will not be rushing out to buy the Watch, it is on my radar. I think, like the iPad, the version 2 will be much better than the premier device. Also, like the iPad, this device will be far more useful and integrated into everyday life than people expect now.

As for it being a hit - I predict in two years unit sales of the Watch will exceed that of the iPad and that over 60% of iPhone users will own an Apple Watch.

I’ll wait on the watch. But there’s something to be said for it. It may actually be a good paring with the IPhone. We will see.

While speaking of watches:

My next door neighbor purchased a Hublot watch for $18K. It stopped working after 2 months. He took it back to the jeweler, who sent it out for repair. The US company sent it back to Europe, where it stayed for TWO MONTHS.

I kept asking him “What time is it?” just to see him cringe.

Watches are so last century.

I kept expecting a whistle as he talked.

I can see that video with many more parodies! It’s funny!

Completely imbedded in the cult. I have been a Mac user since 1990. Before it was cool. (but I was a graphic designer so I had reason). I think I paid close to 5k for my first Mac desktop computer. LOL--probably had 64K of ram.

I have a hard time getting rid of them because they hold so much sentimental value to me. I have a desktop Imac sitting on my desk now that was the last PowerMac series. It's pretty much useless. I can't even install the latest browsers anymore. But, I can't part with it. It's irrational.

Yours is an impressive list. I have a little work to do. (:

. . . so she bought a new Macbook but not the new Macbook. Terrible luck with the timing, right there.
Worse, she obviously didn’t deal with an Apple Store when she bought it.

I can relate; I just bought a new iMac and, having recently moved into red territory (central PA), I am not in even extreme commuting range of an Apple Store, and dealt with an authorized reseller. No problems as such, and probably won’t have any for some time - but there is no comparing the experience with that of the Apple Store itself. “Nothing but troubles” from brand new stuff just isn’t going to be experienced at an Apple Store, in my experience.

We’re in the mountains of Calif (Also RED country in a dumb ass Blue State) and no Apple Stores around. Your orig comment to me has now got her stirred up to go for a trade in or upgrade. They really botched the service and warranty on this unit as she’s spent less time using it then on the help line) surprised she missed the New Mac Book coming out as she’s a tech junkie...even taught tech at the University in Sacramento a few years back.....slipping in our old age. Thanks for the reply. Good luck in Penn

There's no way that what the guy was saying is what the closed caption translation says he was saying. . .

I agree, the guy on the video is obviously discussing something totally unrelated to Apple and a joker took the opportunity to subtitle it differently as a joke.

Aside from that, I was considering buying the new Macbook for my wife, but the single port is of concern to me. Do you know if it will come with the AC adapter and USB-C cable? Because otherwise, that's another $79 or so. And the USB-C multi-port adapter is another $79. I wish Apple would bundle these together with the new Macbook for those of us with numerous peripherals. I might opt for the new Macbook Retina laptops instead, just for this reason.
