All the little buddies I have lived with over the years have different preferences. Sometimes precious, sometimes irritating.

I never get irritated, but the wife does. Only thing bugs me is our big Siamese treating me as a doormat leaping over to get to the wife at night. Especially when he leaps short and lands on my nutz.

Being a lot longer of leg than the wife, I often get leg warmers restricting my ability to roll about. No big deal, decades of training have me equipped for that.

The current Siamese occasionally decides he needs increased cuddles and marches about my head at 0400 as a signal to lift the covers. He then proceeds to get under, curl up, purr, and give me love nips on the forearm.

No big deal, but the wife absolutely refuses to do that. She cannot go back to sleep, to me, it is a sleeping pill.

I have a Korat that was my Father's before he passed away.

This insane beast seems to enjoy sleeping in my armpit.
Suicidal much, Jones?!

“According to research, 53 percent of dog guardians...”

Good Grief! “Dog guardians”?

Maybe I’ve been mistaken all these years, but we feed the mutt to GUARD US, not the other way round. The whole world is bonkers.

But cats are not nocturnal, they are crepuscular, most active at dawn and dusk. As long as you don’t try sleeping in past dawn there’s not really a problem with a mismatch in human and feline sleep schedules. Our cats sleep almost all night and almost all day!

I love having my kitty sleep beside me! There’s only 2 problems:

1: I toss, turn, and kick in my sleep.

2: My bedroom is the room where the potted plants hide, because it’s the only room where they’re safe from the cat.

On occasion, Kitty and I take naps together on the couch, but those are rare.

Our guys are most certainly up at night, but in the morning at least one is on the bed, and the other snoozing elsewhere.

I am usually up and about before them. When they come in to the office and bug me to feed them around 0830 or so, I know the outside kittehs are waiting for breakfast as well, 99% of the time.

They are nocturnal, but seem to have internal clocks that synch with humans especially with feeding times.

I am a cat person, my wife is a dog lover ... therefore we own a dog. LOL! That’s how you keep a marriage going for 42 years. Nuff said.

So THAT'S why it sounds like a hurricane fighting Godzilla in my kitchen at 5:30 AM in my house!!!

A few months ago, I got my kitties a heated cat bed, since they're getting old and I keep the house colder than I used to. They still sleep with me some of the time, but they spend a lot of time in their own bed, too. It's the only item of cat furniture I've bought them that they actually use.

I actually stole that pic on post 6 from Google. Post 8 is my little Jones. It’s the same kind of cat, though. The Jonesy cuddlecutie. The only thing my Dad left me before he died.

That’s not a bad idea.

Cute kitties, too.
