It is a nice store, oriented towards apartment living. They have a lot of fancy kitchen sinks and cabinets, bathroom tile and bathtubs, that sort of thing.

The renovation industry in New York is huge. In my building, the super runs a small business on the side doing up apartments. Any apartment owner in the building who wants his bathroom or kitchen redone goes with this guy to Home Depot, picks out the stuff he wants, and then the super’s workmen install it. He completely rebuilt my bathroom in 4 days, very nice job too, all with stuff from that Home Depot.

A friend of mine who owns a leather goods store but, I don’t know the name of it.

I also use to be a member of the Halcyon Club at what was one of my favorite hotels years ago “The Rhiga Royal”

Off the top of my head though is Veritas Restaurant and Union Square Cafe, Sparks and bunch of other places.

Love fresh made, piping hot, potato chips...

Many tourists think Manhattan is just one big block of skyscrapers and that everybody commutes there, but actually nearly two million people actually live there full-time. So it stands to reason you would see the same big-box stores that you get in the suburbs. They also have another Home Depot up on 59th Street but I think that one is completely underground.

People gotta stop settling “disputes” and “slights” by means of violence and murder. There are too many people with that kind of mentality!

It obviously is a lie, there are no guns allowed in NYC.

I’m thinking the White guy nailed him back with a real concrete nail gun, like the kind my brother uses.

Both dead now, looks like one black, the other white. I can't tell which was the shooter.

But where would you lay the odds?

I realize that - HD wouldn’t be in NYC if there wasn’t a SERIOUS NEED for them...I just LOVE to generalize.

“”Me thinks the black guy was the shooter with the dreadlocks and white guy is laying face down and it appears they are trying to save him.””

Don’t look now but here comes Sharpton - the white guy is being looked at but no one is checking out the OTHER GUY!

It’s Chelsea. Many big box stores in the area. It’s also where the gay migration led after the Aids crisis. Until that time the West Village had been their roosting place.

Chelsea is very vibrant with restaurants, stores and Union Square Market.

The Flatiron building and Madison Square Park are 1-2 blocks away.

Empire State Building is directly 10 blocks north
