"Great Surprise"—Native Americans Have West Eurasian Origins
nationalgeograph ^ | November 20, 2013 | By Brian Handwerk

Nearly one-third of Native American genes come from west Eurasian people linked to the Middle East and Europe, rather than entirely from East Asians as previously thought, according to a newly sequenced genome.

Based on the arm bone of a 24,000-year-old Siberian youth, the research could uncover new origins for America's indigenous peoples, as well as stir up fresh debate on Native American identities, experts say.

The study authors believe the new study could also help resolve some long-standing puzzles on the peopling of the New World, which include genetic oddities and archaeological inconsistencies

I always find it odd that researchers think peoples moving form place to place took thousands of years...

We evil white Europeans settlers moved westward in a matter of 100 years in North America...

So they are evil invaders, too?

Yep. Barack Obama will be so disappointed that the so-called native Americans pushed people out who pushed people out who had pushed people out....ad infinitum.

So, by his logic, the 18th and 19th century Native Americans were wrong to resist? Do I have that right?

Eventually it will be accepted that there was a lot of transoceanic commerce from way BC right up to the last millennium. It seems that the bronze age was supplied with copper from the Lake Ontario area and maybe even tin from the Andes. Ancient bronze samples are identifiable by their impurities as their source. Archaeologists have been “unable” to identify most of the bronze found to date. Several metallurgical specialists have noted that Ontario is a match. Mainstream archaeologists do not accept that because they already firmly know that it could not be. Ontario was the world’s far largest source of native copper that did not have to be smelted from ores. There are strong signs of copper mining at the Ontario source, many thousand tons, for several thousand years up to the end of the bronze Age and only tiny number of copper objects have been found among local populations of that time.

Can you imagine the outcry if Spain took over North America instead of those benevolent and gentle English Protestants?

Don’t the illegals have origins from a different continent too? Or are they the only people that were here from the very beginning?

It is not likely they were ideologically or politically inclined at all-apes did/do not have the mental capacity for that. Arguably, neither do liberals.

It has become pretty obvious that humans had been traveling around by boat as well as on their patamobiles for quite some time by 25,000 years ago. The ones smart enough to paddle/sail along the ice sheets that kept them within sight of land were obviously conservatives...

Spain did own/take over part of North America before the British/English-it was called Spanish Territory or New Spain-it was what is now the American Southwest-Texas, New Mexico, Arizona. Spain also colonized California, parts of
Florida, Colorado, and several other Southern states-and Spain was not benevolent at all...

“Western Eurasians”? If they mean the Lapps (Sami) it’s long been speculated that there was a connection to American Indians and Eskimos (Inuit).

They’re just another branch of Jews that spread across the planet. Where do y’all think they got the idea about the Great Spirit? the temples in Mexico? and human sacrifice (that would be from a dark period in Jewish history)

Sort of kidding..time frame probably doesn’t line up.

Not kidding here . . . I read somewhere about conjecture that the Indians were descended from the 10 lost tribes of Israel.(I’m Jewish, BTW.) Don’t remember the details, though.
