Why? I sold my iPhone 5 16GB for $275 and the iPhone 6 64GB I replaced it with cost me $299. $24 for two years of excellent use of a pocket computer that doubles as a phone at $1 a month? That's a GREAT bargain, as far as I'm concerned.

The real junk are the Android phones that have no resale value. When I bought my iPhone 5 two years ago, I traded in my two year old iPhone 4s and pocketed $56 over and above the $200 I paid for my new iPhone. A friend who was with me traded in his six month old Samsung Android, bought with no contract for $499, to buy an iPhone 5, because the Android was giving him problems. . . and they gave him only a $37 trade in. Worthless junk.

You realize the actual cost of the phone was built into your monthly phone bill, right? Wholesale cost to the carrier that they pass onto you is about $550/unit.

ALL Consumer Reports tests should be taken with a LARGE truckload of salt.

i.e. - don’t believe their tests due to built-in bias.

Their tests on stereo equipment/components (my industry) are an absolute joke and blatantly dishonest.

I did notice that the iPHone 6 was tested the same way as the rest of the group that was tested. But, that's a false test.

The tests were done with the pressure being applied on the same spot, meaning, towards the center of each. But, the iPhone 6 problem is about how it bends at where the buttons are, which is higher up than the middle of the phone. The phones bend in people's pockets, and if the test was going to be done properly, then, people's pockets should have been used for proper testing.

I'm pretty sure that, no other phone would bend like the iPHone 6+.

We had to get their airwave device.

Phones were working fine, in our area and home, now they don’t work unless I drive 10 miles out, in any direction.

Now my phone makes and annoying four beeps sound when I’m home, on their gadget.

“Oh, were running new lines and upgrading the network”.

Uhm, no. You jerkoffs state in your last quarterly report you intend on distributing 3 million air devices by the end of 2015. Which, can only mean, you intend on leveraging my LAN and Internet connection, to avoid expensive upgrades to “Your” network and reduce traffic loads.

You are doing this on purpose and I expect there will be a class action soon declaring and proving as much.

I did some research, and this only applies to iPhone 6 64gbs with AT&T. This is what your want since the iOS 8 uses a lot of space. Don't waste your time with the 16gbs addition or you will only have 11 actual gbs instead of 16 gbs to start. As Apps get larger over 2 years, then you will quickly run out of space.

I can keep my current rate of $115 a month. This includes 10gbss of data, unlimited texts and unlimited phone calls in all 50 states including it territories. This is IF I do the following

I add the iPhone 6 64gbs, then it will only cost me $31.25 extra a month for the next 24 months. That will pay for my phone. So I will not need to come up with $299 and it avoids the $40 activation fee too. At 18 months I can even upgrade to a different phone. If I do not change phones, then after 24 months my rate just goes back to $115 a month.

Again there is no down payment of $299, there is no activation fee of $40.

So all I'm looking at is $31.25(per month extra) x 24 (months) = $750 for the iPhone 6 64 gbs.

Now if you take the other option of paying $299 up front for the iPhone 6 64gbs . You still have to pay the $40 activation fee and your rate will still go up $25 anyway. So you end up paying $299 (iPhone 6) + $40 (activation fee) + 600 ($25 (a month) x 24 (number of months))= $940.

Plan A is $200 cheaper than plan B over 2 years.

Finally, AT&T offered me $200 for my current iPhone 5 32gbs. I think I can get more for it on Craig's List. My iPhone 5 looks and operates like it did on day one. I have zero problems with this phone.

That’s not the cost of the phone. You are being suckered into contract extension by AT&T, and you will pay for it in the long run.

Many of us, myself included, do not use AT&T or other contract carriers—we simply buy unlocked phones and go where we want.

Of course I do, but I also know they sell it to me retail. . . but so is the retail cost of any other new phone on a plan. . . and the base plan is the same whether the phone you select is $755 (my actual out the door retail price for an iPhone 6 with 64GB), $699 for a Samsung, $649 iPhone 6 16GB Smartphone, $499.(iPhone 5s), or $249 to $399 for a more limited Android smartphones, or $199 for a dumb feature phone. . . You pay for it. TANSTAAFL. Or in this case, TANSTAAFSP, or TANSTAAFiP!
