I know it may be insane, but I'm thinking of moving to Colorado, Boulder specifically. Do any of you live there and do you think it's possible for a 62-year-old single female Conservative to live happily there? My reasons are that I hear it's beautiful, closer to my family in Los Angeles (but I don't want to live in Calif), has seasons and is a place I haven't lived before. I want to start over in a new place. Unfortunately it's a nest of libs, but where isn't? Just wondering - SOMEONE out there in Freeperland must live there! Thanks in advance for your thoughts and info.

There are better places in CO, IMO. I don’t think I could handle the libs there. I’ve worked up there occasionally on a temporary basis and thought I’d go nuts.
I have a friend who lived there and whose mother still lives there. It is a coven of liberals, and very, very expensive. Beautiful place though.

I have a good friend who lives just outside of Boulder. She and her husband are good conservatives.
Boulder is Denver is CO Springs...all of them a libturd haven. Come to the REAL Colorado...over the Mountains on the Western Slope. Soooooooo much better!
Lived there when I taught at CU. Expensive and wacko, not just leftist. Avoid at all costs. There are much better places in Colorado and Utah.

My wife and kids and I lived in Colorado Springs for five years. We loved Colorado. Boulder is a great location — close to culture, to the mountains, to Breckenridge and Vail and Estes Park and Denver. Boulder itself has a lot of fun cultural things — great restaurants, interesting art scene, and so on.
I’m about as conservative as they come (both spiritually and politically), and didn’t have a problem with Boulder. Sure, there are “libs,” but there’s also a lot of fun culture.
Well, I’m about to get a MA in counseling, so they could be my future clients!

We are thinking of moving to Denver ourselves, and I was wondering what the FReeper life was like there? We also want to get out of L.A. Because it’s just getting to expensive to afford. We live in a state and city that actively rejects business and freedom.

My oldest son and his family live there, or near there.
Boulder is pretty high end but they live in Louisville just down the road and it is a pretty nice little town; a little more reasonably priced and far enough from Boulder not to have some of the negative aspects of a liberal college town.
Living in Boulder itself is extremely expensive and the liberalism there can reach truly oppressive levels. There are lots of cities in the general area where I would and do prefer to live. Longmont and Fort Collins consistently rate in the top of those “places rated things”. Loveland and Windsor are also nice. I love the area, but I try to go to Boulder as seldom as possible.
Oh, and if you go to Boulder make sure you don’t have any conservative stickers on your car or you could get vandalized. No I am not exaggerating.
