Well just know that I and many here appreciate all that you share here and what you have given in the past; you are the heart and soul of what Jim has created for us all.

We thought of Fort Collins. Road through there on are way to somewhere else.
Adorable town. everything looked taken care and clean and neat. But this was a few year’s ago.

I’ve done the paved version, north to the 62, west to 145, then back down to Telluride, and I’ve traced that 4X4 route on sat. photos, but never got the chance to take it. Sounds like a blast!

Even more fun is the road out of Ouray, to the west, over Imogene Pass (14,000+ feet elevation @ the summit) and then d own into Telluride.

Did the Jeep trip from Chattanooga Valley over Imogene, down into Telluride, then back over Ophir Pass back in the late sixties.

Spectacular! And, at times, a little bit scary.

Came oh, so close to buying the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray on that trip. Could've had it for $19 grand...

Yes, well moving to a city is going to give you a better chance at a job than a small mountain town.
Also, you have the benefit of nearby hospital if necessary, along with more shopping options, and you won’t get all the snow that the mountains get.

True - as a single person, a city is better.

I manage to live in CT, which is about as blue as they get.

Well, there is that state just to your North. But most importantly is to be where God wants you, which may not be what is most attractive in the temporal realm. Surrender to Christ as your Lord and Savior, being saved on His expense and credit, and seek to be used of Him daily, to live thru you in ministering Truth and life. God steers a moving vessel.

We have lived in a populous low income city for years in this most liberal state in the country (see chart ) for 20 years to be used of God, praise Him, not because we like the cold weather or prevalent beliefs and politics !

Oceanside CA is one of the lowest prices along the coast. Carlsbad or Encinitas if you can afford it.

Not bad if you don’t have to drive during commute time. about 1.5 hours from downtown LA different estimate wherever your family lives.

Low property tax and increases restricted to very small increments. Other taxes are high, sales, income.

Carlsbad opening desalt water plant next year.

Coastal; climate mild and very desirable to most.

Cal state politics can drive you crazy, but some cities are fine.

If you want more info freep mail me.

Some nice places inland if you like hotter summer weather. Lower cost housing.

I would add, SD county has a lot of military retirees and churches. Might be nice place for retired woman who seeks social contact, good churches, etc.

Thanks much! I may end up moving there - if I could find something I could afford. My family lives in the San Fernando Valley and my son in Long Beach. Every place I’ve looked at in Calif is pretty expensive. I’m not big on hot weather, and like the seasons - that’s why I was thinking of Colorado. But it turns out Boulder is probably too expensive. Are there any fairly reasonable places out there?
