17 people lost their lives in Parkland when Nikolas Cruz committed a mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018. The people range from students to coaches, and they were all doing what they do on a typical school day. Some were at work. Some were in class. Everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing when they were alerted about the school shooter. The shots rang out, people scrambled, and innocent blood was spilled like broken faucets running continuously until dry.
Leftists called for gun control. Right wingers called for mental health checks. Meanwhile, 17 people were fighting for their lives while everyone bickered about how to fix the problem. The biggest problem is that no one can ever compromise and we will see more school shootings and more mental health and severe trauma issues.
Saying we need gun control is a cop-out. Assuming it's mental illness accomplishes nothing. The real truth hides in the minds and lives of the people who fall so low in their life that the only way they can get attention is by committing mass acts of terror and shootings. What happened to this young man that made him so evil that he felt it was his life calling to murder 17 people and hope to kill more?

You don’t. Parents refuse to discipline their children. They will continue to grow up throwing temper tantrums, but with guns next time.
Here’s an idea, when the FBI gets a THREAT about a whack job who might shoot people..they should actually INVESTIGATE it..instead of trying to find collusion BS about Trump

What would he have done if he didn’t have access to social media, take out an ad in the newspaper?
Need to convince the FBI that undoing a presidential election is BAD and that capturing mass murderers before they kill is GOOD. Good luck with that.
Social media wasn’t the cause of this school shooter syndrome. We had school shooters before the Internet was commercial.
Make schools as secure as banks, most government buildings and police departments with lots of security.
Or, do it the economical way and hire people with guns that can stop a threat. There are more veterans on the streets than active duty. Lots of retired cops too that would likely do it for real cheap. This position would be considered or aligned with doing it as a way to contribute. So the pay would be very little.
Ah gee, by arming everyone? Just sayin..
37 police visits to his house in 7 years; a school the forbid him to come on campus with a backpack; the unique spelling of his name reported to the FBI for posting he wants to be a professional school shooter; and a direct warning to the FBI about him in January; and, none of this raised the right flags?
All these innocent souls lost, and many more wounded in such a tragedy of the incompetence in this “see something, say something” era where the official response is sorry, we might be able to do better next time.
Return to Zero-Tolerance in schools for criminal behavior.
Back in 2013, the Broward County School Board adopted a program where they don’t relay information to police about troubled students.
It’s a move away from so-called “zero tolerance” policies that require schools to refer even minor misdemeanors to the police.
Under a new program adopted by the Broward County School District, non-violent misdemeanors — even those that involve alcohol, marijuana or drug paraphernalia — will now be handled by the schools instead of the police.
Their own policy resulted in DEAD teachers and Dead school children. They have them selves to thank for Cruz’s actions.
Parents of the dead and injured and terrorized kids should be immediately filing lawsuits against the Broward School Board.

Ya got to do it smart. No need to spend billions. If ya made all the schools like county jail level security, they’d go after the school buses. Or just sit outside in a vehicle until school got out and...
There was a caller on one of the shows whose school district called in the local cops the day after Sandy Hook to come in and make recommendations.
Unfortunately I was driving and couldn’t take notes, but a number of the suggestions were dead simple.
One was to invite the cops to do their report writing at the school, giving them a frequent and random presence there, rather than at the local Starbucks. They implemented that one the very next day.
Another was to have the SROs (School Resource Officers) keep their ARs in a readily accessible safe on the campus, rather than require them to leave them out in their cars.
Others required a bit more work, restricting entry to a single point, ability to lock down zones to isolate an assailant, and to provide video feed from their existing cameras to responding officers in their patrol cars.

How about the FBI actually interview the subject beforehand when they are warned?
