One was to invite the cops to do their report writing at the school, giving them a frequent and random presence there, rather than at the local Starbucks. They implemented that one the very next day.

This is the most brilliant idea, the mass murderers that attack our defenseless school children all seem to have the wherewithal to avoid attacking those that can shoot back. All local police meetings that do not include escorting suspects or prisoners should be moved to school facilities. Any would be mass murderer would certainly be deterred by the constant presence of several police cars in the lot. Perhaps even have teachers drive the non in use police cars or just park their extra squad cars at the schools instead of the police lot.

I thought so!

It removes the certainty that there will be no resistance.

Even if there doesn’t happen to be a squad car in that parking lot at any given moment, no wackadoodle or terrorist can ever discount the possibility that one could show up just as they are fixin’ to get started!

Further, it allows the students to associate with police in a non-confrontational setting and gets them to associate the police with safety. For the police, they see kids who are NOT a problem every day. This can’t help but reduce the us vs them mentality on both sides.
