Saturday At Costco

I am normally smart enough to stay out of my local Costco store on a Saturday afternoon. But yesterday I was out of my allergy meds, planning a visit to my crazy-sweet-cat-lady sister-in-law today and – having a real cat allergy (insert sad face here) - I committed an unforced error: I decided to pick up a few additional items while I was there.  The whole experience was worse than I imagined. The icy parking lot was a nightmare, I had to stalk someone to get a parking spot.  Shopping cart availability was limited to a bring-your-own-in-from-the-freezing-cold-parking-lot and the aisles were a maze and buzz of third world anarchy. Literally.

They were jammed with people who were clearly not born anywhere around here and by “here” I mean the United States. They were driving their shopping carts around in circles, ramming into others as they darted to and fro, speaking in tongues and otherwise creating shopping gridlock.

shopping cart gridlockFrom Rick and Kathy

Of course I’ve seen non-native born shoppers here before, but they seem to own Saturdays. I know my virtue signaling betters will be quick to call me racist for this, but in my judgement the Hindi woman wearing a very lightweight sari covered only with an equally lightweight rain jacket and wearing flip flops on an afternoon that peaked at 16 degrees was not from around here. Nor was the hijab-clad woman with 5 kids all speaking an unintelligible language.

So I did the math (my white privilege) while waiting in the checkout lines solely on the basis of profiling. Using nothing more than my powers of observation I determined that 31% appeared to be either black or white native born Americans. The remaining 69% appeared (and sounded) to be from some place far, far away. Mind you, I’m not drawing any conclusion about the legal status, citizenship, virtue – or lack thereof - of of this huddling mass of humanity. I’m simply stating what is glaringly apparent to anyone paying attention: in my “white suburban” neighborhood the majority of shoppers on this Saturday afternoon in January, 2018 were most assuredly foreign-born. And oddly enough none – none mind you – appeared to be from south of the border. These new immigrant Americans were predominantly Indians, Pakistanis, Asians and too-numerous-to-mention Middle East countries. All here, I presume, to do jobs that Americans won’t do.

And that, my friends, is why Donald J. Trump is president.

I once worked with a lawyer  who, when he thought we were offering to give away more than we needed to in a business deal would remind us that while our contract terms needed to be legal and ethical in every respect, we were not a church. Some goes for our country, we are not a church; we cannot save the whole world. Acting as if we can do all of God’s work is pure hubris.

I filed for SS online, my interview was done over the phone in 20 minutes. My first payment was directly deposited in 10 days.

Never shop at a store you have to be a member of to shop at.

...

This is when it’s a good idea to spend a couple of extra bucks and go to the drugstore.

It sounds like my local Walmart. Obama (and Bush?) did a good job of bringing in these bizarre creatures with their bizarre sartorial habits and inflicting them upon the American middle class while they hide in their gated cities and neighborhoods. Maybe they're all good people but when I see a black burka, that's not what I'm thinking.

"...USA..."

I am thankful for my somewhat older age so that I don’t have to be here when the USA truly becomes just another Third World country.
President Trump has thankfully slowed the decline, yet they will ultimately defeat us via their ridiculous birth rate with their 6-8 kid litters.

Hey, you should be glad he offered any kind of money! I live in an area that has the highest percentage of Indians in the US. They don’t want to pay for anything and will argue that while the line grows longer and longer. They also xerox coupons and try to palm them off on cashiers.

We find that the Costco Membership fees cut down on the crowds this writer moans about.

Last Friday, we went to Costco from about 12:30 pm to 1:45.

The big crowds and lines were at the gas station. Most Costco drivers haven’t figured out if your gas cap is on the left side of your vehicle. You don’t have to wait in line to have your vehicle’s left side by the gas pumps. Use any of the pumps that are on the right side of your vehicle which are usually open or maybe one car in that lane. You just pull the gas hose up over your trunk lid, open the gas cap lid, insert the nozzle and fill up. We did that and were in and out of the lines in about 10 minutes.

The parking lot in front of Costco looks like a slow moving movie of hundreds of angry vehicles looking for a parking spot close to the entrance. Vehicles are often driven by people in their expensive exercise outfits and running shoes. They pay to exercise in a gym and will drive around for a long time to get a parking place by the front door.

We park in the Costco parking lot across from the gas station. There are all ways parking spots there. We walk about a quarter of a mile to get to the store with paying to exercise. As usual some nice shopper is finishing unloading their cart and offers it to us or we offer to take the cart.

After the horrendous quarter mile walk to the store, we part ways after we get in. I go to the part of the store with shaving/beauty products and OTC meds and take care of that shopping. I catch up with my wife and put the stuff I just picked up in her cart. This is usually by the clothing area. I leave my wife to shop and go the meat/seafood section for those items. She catches up and we finish our shopping together. We avoid the food sample area where swarms of people are eating and talking.

Checking out often shows again how lazy most customers are. They line up for the 5-6 checkers in the middle of the store. If you are willing to walk 40-50 yards to either end of the checkout line, there is minimal if any waiting.

After the checkout we walk the horrible distance back to our vehicle passing the swirling and growing traffic jam in front of the store. I have used a personal/portable GPS to see how far we Costco walk from the parking lot to the store, inside and back. It ranges from 1.25 miles to 1.5 miles.

So we get our daily walking while shopping at Costco.

Northern Virginia area is chock full of middle eastern imports too. We’re becoming strangers in a strange land. We could embrace them if they were constitution loving conservative christians instead of rotgut new Dem voting drecks.

I remember my retirement visit to the SS office. While there were seats available, I think I was the only grey hair in the place. Everyone else was in his 20s or 30s claiming disability. The great part is, because I draw a teacher pension about half of my pre-teaching social security benefit is withheld. That way people who have never worked can be taken care of.

Try doing business with one. An indian group owns a hotel. I was asked the quote on a project. I was the lowest quote but not good enough. After several back and forth to try for a lower price I just withdrew my proposal...not worth the effort!

THAT is the right way to do it. I hate going to DMV to renew so I don’t and am thankful for online even though I have to pay extra and should not.

They think they can haggle at department stores! They come across as idiotic and they don’t even know it. (And don’t go to NJ business blogs about them - horror stories at all levels).

The Indians, Pakis, Afghanis, and Chinese started moving into Silicon Valley towns in a big way 25 years ago. Now, formerly white towns are 100% foreigners. The lower income towns got taken over first. Then the waves moved into the more well-to-do towns. Now the richest towns are rapidly turning over. Everywhere in the South Bay and Peninsula, you feel like you packed up and moved to China or India.

I have to hand it to these immigrants, though. They are all well educated, have excellent university degrees, work hard, and make tons of money. Nevertheless, this fast demographic shift is really depressing.

We have handed our country over to any foreigner who wants or demands it. The best country in the world, and we gave it away.

Almost certainly the likely intent of the anti-American politicians and bureaucrats who facilitate importing "open sewage" or openly critical cultures.

And, the "establishment" thought we would sleep through it.

Chad, perhaps the only difference is that at least for the moment, the "royalty" reads every bit of our correspondence and can quickly learn where we live. No wonder Trump has them tied in knots.
