Well.
It has been 16 years more or less that I have been on FR.
My participation began with the contested Bush-Gore election in late 2000.
I've seen a lot of debate, a lot of discussion, and a wide palette of points of view from left to right and on many spiritual subjects.
I believe the present season, with not just Trump but a new salvational consciousness on the horizon, is an answer from God to the confusion.
Anyhow, as the "age of Trump" comes upon us, are there wiser ways to use FR than to chew the fat on behalf of particular parochial views? Perhaps it would be the time, instead, to look at how a full-salvational God consciousness can bridge what looked like unbridgeable gaps.
I got into a debate today on Facebook. It was with a women's protest movement that, typical of our modern Left, took the LGBT etc. under its wing. Well we know that's folly. I tried to sell them on the point that it was folly. I got asked back whether I'd ever met any of these folks. Well here's where I took a turn I might have taken differently. Rather than saying yes, I've seen them do thus and such, which emphasized how much I knew, I could have pulled the mirror out right there and then, and asked how many conservatives or even centrists that person had met, and are they all the same?
Conservatives can get so fixed on the idea that the Left is ghastly wrong, that they can also forget that even blind squirrels smell out some nuts. A full authoritarian brain wash job towards the Left isn't needed, if we can rightly capitalize on, even empathize with, what they correctly identify as desiderata. Sometimes it's just our own pride or lack of patience that has caused us to get frozen into a certain attitude. As even Trump said, "I'm going to bring us together." Let's give both God and Donald a chance.

Well whether or not we get giddy, that is the most important question.
I fully expect, based on criticisms of Trump I have seen here already, that Trump is going to be criticized many a time on FR and similar forums for having gone too weak on something. Oh, he just asked a lefty to do something! Oh, this plan of his looks socialist!
Maybe you should have elected me president, if you expected a perfect centrism. (Snort, snort, snort)
When righteous bible writers delve into the question of what God intended, I think it’s safe to say that your attempt to characterize a line of inquiry as categorically wrong (when the bible doesn’t — it was theologians who did) is poppycock.

I think it’s possible that Donald Trump won’t even bother with FR.
He’s already got a vision and its implementation seems to be getting him applause in most cases.
He has better than a skilled amateur peanut gallery with a distinct rightward drift. He has people with little or no vested interest in a tendentious political attitude.
Now maybe ideas will spin from FR to others whom in turn will pass on ideas that figure in Donald Trump’s calculations.
Do you want edification, or do you want argument?
Touch of irony maybe, in the context of “KEEP IT SECULAR.”
Keeping it secular won’t be a direct aid to help America go where America needs to go from here. America was built to be believing, and believing in a specific vein. Anything less, and its institutions become preposterous, with all manner of imaginary “rights” popping up while real rights languish.
And neither does an “everybody’s right, in the end” theology help. Like God launched this thing we call a universe as a scientific study rather than as a love farm.
I’m just telling you about a decision I’ve made on how to spend some of my time. I’m not predicting anything will come of it.
However, I do take issue with your characterization of FR as a peanut gallery.
You of all people, who have posted some of the great posts on this site, should immediately march to the bathroom and wash your mouth out with soap! Stat!

There are some truly great words posted here from time to time, and you of all people should know that.
I've found that nebulous accusations of hypothetical pride to camouflage what amounts to religious "virtue signaling" is superstition and a vanity.
The test seems to be whether or not the "signaler" gets mad when one does not receive their "wisdom."

I don’t think it’s wise to criticize the secular types; find like-minded Christians who share your views, form a coalition with them and express your views.
Apparently FREE REPUBLIC was scoured by the OBAMA Administration. The site was mentioned numerous times on WIKILEAKS. That’s the beauty of the site. It is read worldwide by all segments of society.
I’m saying what you’re saying, to take the conservative ideas here out to other venues. If you’re linking articles posted on FR to Trump, et al, great.
I’m saying we should do that, and more.
I send the links to ordinary people, too, to fence-sitters who I think are open minded enough to consider them. And I go out there on lefty venues (I’ll never tell which ones) and challenge them.
No, I’m not suggesting the wacko commie crowd be invited to FR to “discuss” (shout us down) nor am I suggesting FR should change to appease the left.
Nothing I am saying should be construed to mean surrender. Evil needs to be stomped.
I’m just suggesting we be more active and proactive in the real world, not just talk to people we already agree with.
Right now is a tremendous opportunity. I believe a lot of people who identify with the Democrats, and even with the far left, are seeing their true colors right now and thinking, wait, do these jerks really represent me? We can use that opportunity, or we can sit here hoping Trump reads FR and he’ll be inspired to fix everything for us, and in the process, totally blow it.
I agree with you. I have tried that in different comment sections in the media but unfortunately the few venues I have tried all shut down their comment sections over time. The Snowflakes couldn’t handle the truth. Not saying because of my posts, but because of Deplorable Posts in general. The leftists can’t stand open discussion. They despise it.
So yes, what you are doing, and what you are advocating, is excellent.
You have some excellent ideas and I wish you the best possible results getting them out there.
You could start by buying one of those Coexist stickers for your car.
