New Gallup survey: Trump supporter’s “extraordinary enthusiasm” dwarfs that of Cruz supporters

Polls and surveys showing someone other than Donald Trump in the lead among the final three contestants for the Republican nomination have to be viewed through the prism of enthusiasm among those who support him and his opponents.

A just released Gallup survey measuring the level of enthusiasm among Trump’s supporters found that 37% are extremely enthusiastic about voting for him and another 28% are very enthusiastic for a whopping 65% on the enthusiasm scale.

For Trump, this compares very favorably to the level of enthusiasm among Ted Cruz supporters which stand at 22% extremely enthusiastic and 17% very enthusiastic for an enthusiasm level of just 39%. John Kasich’s extremely enthusiastic supporters are at 16% and his very enthusiastic supporters are at 17% giving him an enthusiasm level of 33%.

This huge enthusiasm advantage Trump enjoys over his Republican opponents’ carries over in a comparison to the enthusiasm of Hillary Clinton’s supporters as well. Trump’s total 65% enthusiasm far eclipses Clinton’s 54% level.

Moreover this high level of enthusiasm for Trump compares very favorably to the level of enthusiasm for voting by all among Americans.

Contrary to the enthusiasm of Trump supporters which Gallup calls, “extraordinarily high,” the overall level of voter enthusiasm in America has fallen from 54% in January to 47% today.

While enthusiasm is not always a true indicator of eventual turn-out, any candidate would rather be in Trump’s position than...

Gee that almost matches DJT’s unpopularity fugues and worse only 30% of the women like him - how much lower can it go?

Looks like Hillary/Sanders will be our next rulers for reading all those numbers.

You either want a fighter or you don’t. For 8 years all we heard was bush was weak because he didn’t stick up for himself. We finally have what we asked for and still some aren’t happy. It just proves that some will never be happy.

BTW: DJT & Cruz lose to Hillary/Sanders except Kasich who loses to Hillary but narrowly beats Sanders by one point.

As of now.

"We’d be so lucky to have a dictator in trump"

In theory, the best form of government is a dictatorship led by a Philosopher King. It is utopian.

In reality, dictatorship leads to slavery and mass graves.

I’m in NC and Trump won fairly easily, so people have to be downplaying their support in casual conversation here. The same seems to be the case on the D side of things, but it’s Hillary that doesn’t get much public acknowledgement of support. I know no one who is talking up Cruz, in public or in private. I’ve never seen such a divergence between polling, primary election performance and my personal interactions and observations. So, I have to say I don’t have a clue who’s going to win in the general.

Gallup also shows Trump has the highest negatives of any candidate. So, I have no doubt that his supporters are enthusiastic. I would call it crazed, but in the general election, there will be equally enthusiastic opposition.

When Cruz first announced I was his biggest fan. I coined the term “Ted Cruz accept no substitutes”. Then he started voting sideways and I said well OK let me listen to his reasoning and it was just not credible

The final straw for me was when Ted Cruz started saying Jeff Sessions didn’t know what he was talking about on TPA and TPP. This little 40 something upstart Jr senator trying to marginalize the most astute Sr senator on immigration. What a crock. And make no mistake a lot of TPP has to do with immigration.

A climber fell off a high mountain and during his fall managed to grasp a tree limb. Steadying himself, he shouted “Is there anyone up there who can help me?”. Then a voice boomed down, “I will help you but first you must let go of the tree limb”. The climber looked down, then up and shouted, “Is there anyone else up there?”. What is the tree limb???
It’s the GOP and far too many simply cannot/will not let go?
If anyone wants confirmation of this, sample posts on various Tea Party Internet sites where the reaction to Trump is frenzied animus and fevered abuse that goes far beyond paranoia.
A prediction. When this election is over and regardless of the result, the Tea Party has fatally damaged itself by its raging intolerance toward Trump.

But it is just a few who are loud about Cruz

Trump has a ton of support here

Cruz supporters don't want to answer this question:

Since we now know that lyin ted is also cheatin ted and that lyin ted claims to be pro-Life, what would lyin, cheatin ted do if one of the many skanks he sleeps with got pregnant?

What would he do with the baby? take it home and raise it? Support the girl and the baby for the next 22 years or instruct the shank to kill the baby?

And of course this, "has lyin cheatin ted sent Heidi to the VD clinic to get checked?

Cute realistic view of what is going on right now in the Republican Party. I never would have thought I’d see such destruction. I knew the Republican Party was dying but never thought it was suicidal. A shame but something better will replace it that at least cares about its voters. One can only hope.

We know how this potus candidate and veep candidate handled his out-of-wedlock daughter.

Once they sink their teeth into you, the Enquirer does not let go if there is any there-there. They are journalistic pitbulls. If Cruz steps out of the race, the story continues. They want to sell magazines, not win political races. Case in point: John Edwards

Edwards’ scandal story made the headlines of the Enquirer in 2007 and continued for nearly three years. The affair was initially reported in late-2007 by the N.E., but was given little attention outside the tabloid press and political blogosphere. John lied and denied the affair for about 8 months. He denied getting Hunter pregnant and his child another two years.

Edwards, a former Senator (NC), Dem VP and POTUS candidate, admitted to an extramarital affair in August 2008 on ABC News. He admitted an affair with Hunter, but denied that he was the father of Hunter’s baby girl. Hunter’s sister claimed that Edwards was the father and publicly asked Edwards to take a paternity test. In 2010, Edwards admitted that he was the father of the Reilly’s child after the existence of an explicit sex tape, featuring Edwards and Hunter, was publicly reported.

How do you know when a lawyer is lying.....
