The Day the US Military Died
US Defense Watch ^ | March 29, 2016 | Ray Starmann

Posted on 03/29/2016 9:18:50 PM PDT by pboyington

In the 1993 film, Gettysburg, Lieutenant General James Longstreet says to Harrison, the actor/spy from Mississippi, “You know what’s gonna happen here in the morning?”

Longstreet was attempting to convince Harrison that participating in General Lee’s attack toward the center of the Yankee lines on July 3, 1863, might not be in the best interest for his health and general well-being.

He was also pointing to the fact that Harrison, while motivated to the cause, was incredibly naïve.

US Defense Watch to President Obama, Ash Carter, Ray Mabus, Eric Fanning and the Joint Chiefs…

“You know what’s going to happen after April 1st?”

April 1st is the deadline for the military or Congress or whoever still has the intestinal fortitude to convince the Secretary of Defense and POTUS that their ideas of placing women in the combat arms and special operations are based on pure fantasy, and more importantly are going to put this country in mortal danger.

As of now, it looks like there’s no one coming to the rescue of the United States Armed Forces from its imminent execution date with the Marxist social engineers.

Senator John McCain was supposed to be on this. As of now, USDW has seen nothing from McCain on the subject.

Johnny, we hardly heard Ye.

Except for Congressman Duncan Hunter, other voices in the Congress have been silent as well. As the country focuses on the Trump/Cruz Twitter Wars, the US military burns.

Liberals live in a fantasy world, a virtual unreality, a Willy Wonka’s Factory of imaginary ideas and policies. It is a world where things can be any way you want them, just because you want them to be that way. Want to pretend we’re beating ISIS, when we aren’t. No problem, roll out John Kerry and have him tell the world we’re beating ISIS. Want to pretend women can be Navy SEALs, when everyone on the planet knows it’s simply impossible. No problem, send Ash Carter out and have him make a speech as Joe Dunford stands next to him looking like he’s swallowing whole grade cyanide.

It’s a sign of the times…

The military, from the Joint Chiefs down to middle management is suffering from massive cognitive dissonance. Everyone knows the concept of women in the infantry, armor, artillery and special operations is sheer madness, but no one says anything, for the fear of being tossed out and becoming one of the 102 million Americans currently not participating in the work force.

While women can and do serve in a majority of the positions in the military, the combat arms and special operations are different.

Women simply do not have the upper body strength, the aerobic lung capacity and the testosterone laced aggressiveness to complete most combat arms and special operations missions. They are also more prone to injuries and women have obvious hygiene issues that make their deployment into field environments untenable.

For example, during the Gulf War, the author did not shower for fifty days. This is nothing strange for a combat unit deployed in a war zone. During WWII, most GI’s landing on D-Day didn’t get their first shower until two or three months later. In Vietnam, troops would go out on patrols for weeks at a time, without access to any hygienic facilities.

The problem with policies made by people, who have no experience, is simply that they have no experience. They are either bureaucrats or zealots who have rarely, if ever, spent one moment in the military or in a war zone. Ash Carter doesn’t know anything about serving in the combat arms or special ops. His idea of pogey bait is a five course meal at the Ritz Carlton.

Here are some more questions Carter and Mabus and Fanning and Obama have certainly never asked themselves:

How is a five foot two, 95 pound woman supposed to kill a six foot two inch, 200 pound Jihadi in hand to hand combat?

How is a woman supposed to carry the heavy loads of 70 pounds or more an infantry soldier carries into war?

How is a woman supposed to lift a 155mm artillery shell that weighs 100 pounds?

How is a woman supposed to pass BUD/s, US Navy SEAL training?

The list could go on for fifty pages. It is not an indictment of women who perform many jobs in the military very well. It is an indictment of the stupidity, cowardice and political correctness of our leaders.

The naysayers will point to the fact that three women graduated from US Army Ranger School last autumn. The Army loves to boast about this accomplishment for females, yet it refuses to release any information relating to the three females performances at Fort Benning. In fact, the Army is still flouting a request from Congressman Steve Russell (R., OK) and the House Armed Services Committee to turn over the Ranger School records of the three women, one of which was a 37 year old mother.

Reality check: 37 year old men don’t make it through Ranger School during an honest assessment. Most 27 year old men don’t make it through Ranger School.

Talk about a Bridge too Far.

Others will say wars are high tech now and fought with drones and lasers. It’s all a big Nintendo game where everyone gets a shower and three hots and a cot every day. Wrong. Just ask the boys that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The US military may have the high tech tools of war, but the story remains the same: soldiers and Marines are needed to take and hold ground as Roman Legions were needed 2000 years ago.

Ash Carter mentioned recently that “standards will be kept the same.” No they won’t Mr. Secretary, they never are. That’s part of the BIG LIE.

Reports are already emanating from Benning that women had special treatment at Ranger School from Day One: showers every three days, a pink curtain around the field cathole, pre-pre Ranger training, a nutritionist, etc, etc, etc.

A pink curtain, now that’s tactical.

Supposedly, standards in fire departments are the same, yet I never see women responding to a fire. They’re back in the fire house making coffee or working on the computer. If you were trapped in a fire, who do you want carrying you out of the burning building, a male bodybuilder or a 100 pound yogini female?

The military has been lying to itself for years over physical standards for women. Ninety-eight percent of the females that graduate from US Navy Basic Training at Great Lakes fail the fire hose carry test. Women simply do not have the upper body strength to haul a heavy hose up several flights of stairs and put out a simulated fire.

So, what, one may ask, does the US Navy do when a ship stocked with females is hit in battle and catches fire?

It burns and people die, in order that political correctness may live on.

Isn’t it neat? We’re being progressive: women in Delta Force, women in the infantry, women in armor and artillery.

It’s soooo Sanders…

A president who can’t even say radical Islamic terrorism as the monsters come out on ISIS Street and loot and butcher the planet thinks this is just a swell idea.

The social engineers have never understood that war is not an equal opportunity employer and neither is the military.

A 50 year old guy is too old to join the Green Berets and the military in general. Why? Because 50 year old men can’t complete physical tasks as efficiently as they could when they were 20. Does that mean that we should all go out and demand Obama authorize us to be in SF?

No, the nation’s defense hinges on the fact that young, aggressive studs are in Special Forces, not AARP card holders.

Carter, Dunford, Dempsey, Mabus, Fanning, McHugh; they aren’t some great progressives doing some awe-inspiring deed for humanity like freeing the slaves. They are destroyers. They are a wrecking crew. They are Obama’s willing executioners.

As the world is being attacked by Muslim butchers, we deliberately weaken ourselves.

As the Chinese build armed sandcastles and unload military erector sets in the South China Sea, we commit national suicide.

Isn’t it neat? Women in the SEALs. Just like in the movie with Demi Moore.

It’s almost like a Hollywood fantasy come true.

It is a fantasy.

Years from now, when the nation is in ruins and the military lies in a million broken pieces scattered across the globe, the people will wonder what went wrong and who is responsible.

Those responsible are those who wear the uniform right now. In an attempt to protect their livelihoods, they have forgotten the almighty words of Douglas MacArthur…

And through all this welter of change and development your mission remains fixed, determined, inviolable. It is to win our wars. Everything else in your professional career is but corollary to this vital dedication. All other public purpose, all other public projects, all other public needs, great or small, will find others for their accomplishments; but you are the ones who are trained to fight.

Yours is the profession of arms, the will to win, the sure knowledge that in war there is no substitute for victory, that if you lose, the Nation will be destroyed, that the very obsession of your public service must be Duty, Honor, Country.

April 1, 2016…

April Fools’ Day, what a fitting irony to what people in the future will say was The Day the US Military Died.

One point the author forgot: how many male lives will be lost saving the women in trouble?

More important, a civilized society fights FOR its women, not ALONGSIDE them.

“One point the author forgot: how many male lives will be lost saving the women in trouble?”

Not tons. I think that is over rated. The way male lives will be lost is that the women won’t be there. The mixed unit will be -way- under strength. They will constantly get hurt and get evac’ed. The of course, when deployments come, they’ll be boinking like bunnies trying to get knocked up and sent back.

Weak understrength grunt units will get the same load, and take way more casualties.

Yeah but, the next war probably will be decided without soldiers. The battle is taking place right now with research and engineering.

Alas, the Chinese are gaining in that respect, while we fiddle with politics.

Just look to our present society, our current culture for all the answers

As local police, firefights jurisdictions have to abide to Federal Justice Department dictates...

Businesses, colleges abide by these same dictates since the 1970's...

Lower the standards, dumb down the requirements...everybody gets a trophy.

...just a few years ago Men in state legislatures began to vote in favor of a Constitutional Amendment to “grant equality to women”...the great Equal Rights Amendment...

A women, Phyllis Schlafly, stood up and organized women across this nation and defeated the Equal Rights Amendment...

because they wanted and deserve something better than “equal rights”...

...” Congress had set a ratification deadline of March 22, 1979. Through 1977, the amendment received 35 of the necessary 38 state ratifications.

Five states later rescinded their ratifications before the 1979 deadline. In 1978, a joint resolution of Congress extended the ratification deadline to June 30, 1982,

but no further states ratified the amendment and it died.

I am going to add this to the references I have for the below letter I will send annually to Congress about this issue.

LETTER SENT TO MY COGRESSMAN AND ALL SENATORS (December 2015)
The Tragedy of Women in Combat

Ash Carter’s announcement December of 2015 demonstrated the Obama’s Administration attachment to a political ideology fueled by arrogance and premeditated ignorance. Any long period of study and vigorous debate has been among those mutually supportive creatures that have metastasized throughout the military to serve a social agenda bringing future needless devastation. Most of the points I highlight about women in combat arose first when the decision was made to do away with DADT. A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up this disaster.

This tragedy of women in combat provides another reason I now always council men to never enter the armed forces. Social engineering that amalgamates feminist ideals everywhere has now become the over arching imperative to which all operational capabilities must submit.

However, combat operations too often demand unpredictably and unimaginably exhausting brutality to achieve victory. Therefore, only the highest physical abilities and most severe restrictions on human emotions and behaviors can foster the required high morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion required.

Human sexuality simply cannot intrude into this sub-culture where only those displaying the greatest savagery and endurance can hope to win. Resorting to war for national defense entails the ultimate Olympics of conflict occurring at the bleeding edge of existence where the unbelievable must become possible. In this meritocracy there is much less excuse for merging men and women into these struggles than exists for the athletic competitions held every four years.

Combat forms personnel into small, rigid, task oriented units. They then can descend into a squalid cacophony of shrieking, sobbing, crashing dissonance to orchestrate the killing of other humans without hate or joy. These people continuously face extraordinary stress and survive by acquiring the wisdom of wild animals that live in the moment without schedules for eating and sleeping.. At the point of collision, they undertake operations requiring sacrificial, primitive and intimate actions. They must display a noble fidelity in spite of environments that are inherently chaotic, barbaric, and brittle. This alternate reality can be overcome only by trained killers subject to a totalitarian leadership and narrow focus unimaginable for those who see any opportunity for the social alchemy popular in civilian life.

The regimental combat teams for infantry, mechanized and armored units are now the playthings of bureaucrats committed to equal opportunity and affirmative action. They are dismissive of warriors enduring the brutal carnage imperative for triumph. Institutional memories no longer exist for fighting ferocious, shrewd enemies such as the Germans, Japanese, Chinese, and North Vietnamese, who utilized a full array of modern weapons. If one notes the ribbons on any senior officer’s uniform, they show they fought only Arabs the Israelis beat three times at 20 to 1 odds. Such people now question the necessity for high standards which do not obfuscate or allow inferior female performance.

Women not only do not belong at the pointy end of the spear, but should not be holding it to the extent they intrude into the fellowship of combat arms which depends upon savagery for victory. As this tragedy unfolds I will remember the quote that, “Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf”.

Be sure to check out the photo of Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. He looks to me like someone who should be holding personnel seminars at Health and Human Services. I would not want to have anything to do with the gooey product resulting from the fulfillment of his vision. I think it is time to retire the service dress blues for a mauve uniform with a pink stripe and fashionable French berets. Considering the defense secretary claimed a long period of study and vigorous debate, I maintain discussion was among those mutually supportive creatures that have metastasized throughout the military to serve the LGBT and feminist social agendas. Most of the points I highlight below about women in combat first arose when the decision was imposed to do away with DADT. A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up this needless disaster.

Yes, these 'snowflakes' need their safe space to negate all the micro-aggression in their lives.

Simply amazing how this is now considered normal behavior by so many.

Those responsible are those who wear the uniform right now. In an attempt to protect their livelihoods, they have forgotten the almighty words of Douglas MacArthur…

They are the same highest military who **KNOW** that Obama posted fake birth documents, uses a fake social security number, fails e-verify, and wrote on the jacket of his own biography that he was born in Kenya

These are the same highest military who never peacefully and legally requested the courts or Congress to investigate Obama's eligibility to be Commander in Chief. These are the people who betrayed the honorable and dedicated men and women serving under them.

These are the same highest military who betrayed their troops, their nation, and their sacred oath before God to defend the Constitution! They did this in exchange for a pension, perks, and a paycheck.

If in the highly unlikely occasion that I should be in their presence I will turn my back on them .

Excellent point. It makes me wonder if this is deliberate — to weaken the U.S. military.
