Code Trump: The Gallop Leftward Continues
American Thinker ^ | 2/15/16 | C. Edmund Wright

Posted on 02/15/2016 6:40:02 AM PST by TBBT

Donald Trump is now officially the Code Pink Republican. Or maybe he's the Daily Kos or Huffington Post Republican. How about the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Republican? I think that fits. Heck, we all saw it and we all heard it. Trump went full left loon on George W. Bush and 9/11, sounding like the most impassioned truther from the left. Did Maxine Waters do his debate prep?

Trump snarked childishly that Bush did not keep us safe on 9/11. Apparently Mr. Trump is not intellectually very curious about history. If he were, he would know that 9/11 was dreamed up, contemplated, financed, planned, and practiced on Bill Clinton's watch. This planning and practicing continued during the days of the hanging chads in Florida.

This is not to defend George W. Bush and his neocon nation-building fantasies and his capitulation to unions regarding the TSA and so on. I've been critical of Bush and Karl Rove since 2001 on these and many other issues.

But the truth matters.

And the truth is that the single biggest failure by the American intelligence community was foisted onto the CIA and the FBI by Clinton appointee Jamie Gorelick with her infamous "wall of separation" between the two agencies. They had their hands tied behind their backs -- thanks to a Clinton appointee.

I’ll come off my hiatus from posting (personal situation) to thank you for posting this and to thank my FRiend CEW for writing it.

I’ll be reading but not replying for a few more days.

Conservatives: Please do not be deterred or intimidated from telling the TRUTH about Trump. Do your best to simply ignore the personal attacks and flame bait.

Trump's liberal past was never that liberal and it IS in the past.

Cruz's dirty tricks, lack of economic understanding and misplaced trust in others are in the present.

Here is Trump saying he identified more with Republican principles in 1988 (28 years ago).. Donald Trump Interview 1988 Republican convention

Truman was a democrat. I often look back at the man who believed in that sign. He took it upon himself to do the unthinkable and saved our country. Enough men had died in the war. Japan had plans for California if they could get that far. Truman had had it with attacks on us... he ended it all. And the buck did stop with him. He did what no one in leadership today would have had the guts to do. Gutsy men are hard to find these days.

Yes, his saying what he thinks is great because it removes any doubt that at heart he’s a liberal. Now, if you support him, you have to ignore that much of what he says is contradictory to conservative values; it’s actually Noam Chomsky values, New York values. But hey, it’s Trump. Trump is always right. He’s very, very rich. He is so rich that he had it made his whole life, and he knows how life really is because he’s bought Democrats his whole life to enhances his real estate empire. He’s one of us!!!!

Trump wants to “kick ISIS’s ass”. So how is he gonna do that without sending our sons and daughters there to do it? Is he just going to drop more bombs? Just curious.

Well, apparently you haven’t listened to any of his speeches. Donald Trump is quite specific about letting Assad and Russia kick all the Islamists out of Syria, including the ones we are supporting with money and material, which appears to be all of them, since those weapons drops seem to have a way of falling into ISIS hands. He has said he will use the banking system to cut off funds to the Islamists. And while I am sure he has a good idea of what else to do since he has been talking to Lt GEN Mike Flynn, he has said he will ask the military what else we can do.

In the meantime, he is going to “raise the rent” on our support to other countries such as the Gulf States.

Now, as a former intelligence analyst and steely-eyed killer of the deep, I think that is about a specific as I would want a President to get about military operations.

Danny you are killing me bro:

“In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat,” Trump told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in a 2004 interview. “It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans."

So which one is he? How can you support a candidate who so flippantly changes his affiliations and his beliefs based on what works for him?

It's truly amazing..............

You forget that Trump was in the military. His family put him in a military academy before giving him tens of millions of dollars. He’s one of us!!!

'Trump saying Bush is responsible for destabilizing the M.E. is just inaccurate.'

We disagree on that one. Saddam at the end of the day was a huge part of stability in that region. Iran gained influence after the Iraq disaster. Nor were aged and degraded leftover weapons from the eighties a threat to US Safety, nor was the sacrifice in blood and treasure justified for overthrowing Saddam.

Cheney agreed on that idea and his statements after GWI make it clear:

'I think that the proposition of going to Baghdad is also fallacious. I think if we we're going to remove Saddam Hussein we would have had to go all the way to Baghdad, we would have to commit a lot of force because I do not believe he would wait in the Presidential Palace for us to arrive. I think we'd have had to hunt him down. And once we'd done that and we'd gotten rid of Saddam Hussein and his government, then we'd have had to put another government in its place. What kind of government? Should it be a Sunni government or Shi'i government or a Kurdish government or Ba'athist regime? Or maybe we want to bring in some of the Islamic fundamentalists? How long would we have had to stay in Baghdad to keep that government in place? What would happen to the government once U.S. forces withdrew? How many casualties should the United States accept in that effort to try to create clarity and stability in a situation that is inherently unstable? I think it is vitally important for a President to know when to use military force. I think it is also very important for him to know when not to commit U.S. military force. And it's my view that the President got it right both times, that it would have been a mistake for us to get bogged down in the quagmire inside Iraq.

Why don’t you deal with the issue at hand rather than attacking another FReeper who has not attacked you? Go back and retread any trump thread and over and over and over again virtually all you’ll see are people shooting the messenger. Is that really all the deeper your intellectual honesty goes?

Trumpeters are like the foolish harlot who hoists her skirt for the first guy who whispers sweet nothings in her ear and then wonders why he doesn’t call the next day.

Since you don't remember, it's a waste of time to explain.

Huh? If there was something for me to remember, I doubt you'd have to explain anything.

So the way to stop the Liberal agenda is to vote for a liberal?

That's your take, but there is realistically no way you can claim Trump is a liberal. Liberals don't want a termination of illegal immigration. Liberals don't want an overhaul to our tax system. Liberals don't want to end Obamacare. Liberals are not for a strong military. Liberals abide by being politically correct.

You can make a weak argument about statements made in the past. You could also make an argument that the Iraq war statements are liberal, although you would then have to call Pat Buchanan and other conservatives the same.

Like I said, I'm willing to take the chance.

The common everyday American lives paycheck to paycheck. They have more credit card debt than they can pay off in 2 years. They have less than $500 in the bank. A large car repair bill would likely cause them to miss a house payment. Yep... these are the trump supporters. Everyday americans. I'm telling you, this country is full of irresponsible idiots.... and this crazy country lets them vote. We need a constitutional amendment that institutes an IQ test before people an vote.

Unfortunately all of these common everyday americans want to blame somebody else. It's obammy's fault.... it's the establishment's fault... it's my parent's fault because I wasn't born with a golden spoon... it's my ex wife's fault... it's the school system's fault... it's systematic... it's racism.... it's just GOTTA BE someone else's fault. It' can't be that I'm irresponsible, and haven't taken the time to GET A BRAIN....

Get over it. Own up to who you are... get your own responsibility. Don't rely on the government or TRUMPY to fix it for you. Take control of your own life and make something better of it.

I would say my rant is over... but I'm pretty sure it's not.
