You couldn’t be more correct. They see us as a huge military force that can and should be used at will for European goals. Witness Kosovo and the Balkans. Witness Turkey trying to provoke a war in Syria and counting on NATO to fight for them. Witness the NATO attack on Libya that was solely for EU goals. Witness Ukraine where first cause was the EU was pursuing the expansion of its trade zone, provoking a coup and war with the ones who didn’t want to follow. Then the EU screamed to big brother to come fix it.
It is way past time to let the EU defend itself. NATO mainly exists to allow EU countries to have a token presence in everything America does militarily, so they get a say in matters.

It is not only not getting dragged into a war FOR them. Now it is a very real possibility of soon being dragged into a war AGAINST them.
