Might be some Amish too. The Mennonites drive the Amish around in my part of Illinois.
If the checkout is slow up front just go to any other section with a checkout (sporting goods, electronics, jewelry,) etc. They will check you out with no wait. I shop W-M for certain items only, usually have seven or eight items total. I shop Sam’s Club and 3 other stores close to me.
Anybody ever consider that online sales are hurting W-M because of gas prices?
I don’t mind shopping at Walmart, but it would be much better IF when there’s something such as large, bulky, heavy furniture for the patio(s) one wants to purchase somebody at Walmart would step up to help the customer with the purchase.
Too many occasions we’ve encountered the run, and hide employees, AND MANAGEMENT at Walmart. Favorite trick is “I’ll get the department head to send someone over”, walk off, and never be seen again. Hour later somebody else in a Walmart shirt states the same, and is never seen again, and so on.
Five hours later the purchase is on the ol’ pick em up truck after a disgusted cashier risks it all, and raises ‘H’.
The nearest WalMart to us is not much different than any other discount store, except for prices a touch lower and more stuff from China.
re: I think they went down hill when they started selling food.
I think you are right. Walmart always had food items, but the groceries brought in the Foodstamp/EBT crowd big time.
When the markets crashed in 2008 or so, I remember reading Amex actually dropping some card holder BECAUSE they went shopping in walmart. IOW shopping at walmart hurts the credit rating.
I shop there all the time
“The basic problem as I see it is that middle class people are afraid to shop there. If you look at reviews on Yelp one of the most common words used to describe Wal-mart is “ghetto”. There is even a Yahoo question on this very topic:”
Reason I don’t shop at Walmart is because I don’t want to. I get everything I need from other stores for pretty much the same prices. What I give up by shopping at three different stores in convenience.
The ‘old’ Wal-mart embraced Hillary Clinton.
Why go to Walmart when I can go to a full-servce upscale grocery store and get significantly better quality locally-grown meat and produce at the same price, if not lower? I like the fast that my fish and shrimp came from 50 miles away in Mississippi and not from Vietnam, or that my strawberries came from a farm in the next county and not from South America. The canned and boxed items at Walmart are maybe a couple cents lower per item, but it is not worth the 25 cents saved to put up with the hassle of waiting 20 minutes to check out. The upscale store is clean, has no lines, and friendly people who speak english.
Hopefully they don’t.
I never understood those decrying low voter turnout.
We were just at Sam’s Club on Friday and they had signs up saying they Accept Amex
Didn’t realize freepers were such elitists!
I pray someday I will get to be as lily white intellectual as ye.
Mountain people, inner city people.....they vertainly are not the valley people with their different blood and genes.
I enjoy shopping at Walmart. I hate shopping at the mall. I love shopping online, though.
***I do not shop at Super Walmart the first week of the month.***
Same here! You can tell when the welfare people get their money! The first and fifteenth are the worst times! The rest of the time everyone clears out.
Several years ago I went to the Walmart in Sheridan WY! Bracing for the crowds I was shocked, SHOCKED! to find me and my wife were the only ones in the store! I believe there was a rodeo that day and everyone was there.
“The worst one I go in is the Charlotte pike store where my car wash is”
That’s the very one. I used to live on Greeley near Hillwood High school and I used your car wash all the time. It could be very vibrant at the car wash too. When I moved out to White (and I do mean white) Bluff it was with a sigh of relief.

It was about a year ago when i filled out an app at a new Sams and when i found out about limited payment options, i bailed. may look again
***Funny what a $45.00 annual membership fee***
When the various courts voided vagrancy laws, the only way to keep the riff-raff out of the free museums was to institute an entrance fee.
Unfortunately the libraries took a hit as all the available seats were soon filled with bums sleeping it off.
Maybe that is why Walmart does not have seats inside for us old men to wait on our wives.
