On September 17, Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) told an audience at a Harlem breakfast that New York’s surging gun violence was not his fault or proof of the failure of gun control, but was thefault of states “down south.”
Cuomo’s words came the day after his ex-aide Carey Gabay died from a gunshot wound he received when caught in the crossfire of gun violence.
Breitbart News previously reported there were at least four shootings and one stabbing during Brooklyn’s September 7 J’Ouvert festival. Gabay was shot in the head at that festival.
According to the New York Daily News, Cuomo told Harlem breakfast attendees, “The cruel irony here is that we passed the toughest gun control law in the country here in New York.” He was talking about the SAFE Act, which requires firearm registration, bans “assault rifles,” bans “high capacity” ammunition magazines, and expands background checks, all with the promise of reducing gun violence.
But it has not worked. In fact, gun violence in New York City is surging this year.
So Cuomo is blaming the South. “As long as you can get a gun from some state down south, put it in a trunk and drive it up, it’s gonna get into this state, and that’s what’s happening.”
The gunman, however, has not been apprehended nor the source of his gun ascertained. But this did not stop Cuomo from pushing more gun control, ........

I wonder, even if gun grabbers had their dream, how are they going to blame/demand more states down south (i.e., Mexico etc) for their own failure.
Who does he blame for Businesses leaving for the South as New York 100 Million to attract businesses back to New York , to date only 50 employees have been hired.
If Cumo wants to blame anyone its him for Subprime housing meltdown.

I suggest that Andrew implement draconian border control and inspection at all means of entry into NY, then. After all, “it’s for the children.”
Its not the ability to get a gun thats caused the surge you idiot. People have been able to buy guns since this nation was founded and we never had a problem with it like we do now. No its an idiot president and his Marxist principles and agitation leading to enormous social unrest almost the point of anarchy thats created the current situation. People are just reacting to the enormous tensions he caused in our society by assaulting our way of life on every front. He killed the American dream and turned it into a nightmare.
I blame criminals that politicians love to coddle “up north”. It’s the people, not the gun, stupid.

Actually, maybe he has a point. Just think about all these groups of people who are now down south who may have contributed to the sad state of affairs in New York City:
* Entrepreneurs and other business owners who fled the high taxes and regulations in search of friendlier climes
* Stable, intact families with young children who fled the failing NYC public schools to seek out better educational opportunities
* The elderly, the young, the females, or just about anyone who was afraid to walk NYC streets at night, and so fled to a community that focused on enforcing justice rather than enforcing the latest PC agenda
* White, Anglo-Saxon, wealthy people, or anyone who felt they did not benefit from a culture that rewarded perceived victims, who fled to a community where they would not constantly feel that they were being blamed for everything
* People who own cars, who grew tired of constantly getting tickets for not moving their car twice a week, or not wearing a seat-belt, or some other trivial reason, which really amounted to yet another tax, who fled to a place where they could quietly enjoy being a driver without worrying every day about getting yet another ticket
And I’m sure the list could go on and on.
So maybe Cuomo is right - shame on all those people for leaving. Had they only stayed behind, then maybe things in my home of New York City would not be so bad. In fact, one of these days, I may have to add someone else to that list:
* Me
I know. I know. I know, how to fix the problem with those evil Southern States exporting guns to that Pairadice called new York.
All you need to do is put in Checkpoints and search every car, truck or motorcycle with non New York plates. Rip them apart to find those eveel guns. That will probably take care of your problem.
Don’t give me any grief about this not being “Constitutional”. What is “Constitutional” about the current anti gun “Sullivan Laws”?
Besides it’s FOR THE CHILDREN. Don’tcha know?
Cuomo’s an ahole. His SAFE ACT is anything but, and the majority of sheriff upstate have no use for it.

Here, in Louisiana, in the last few years, the Legislature re-wrote the State Constitution, to SOLIDIFY the U.S. Constitution’s 2nd Amendment, and to create situations, as Cuomo has been attempting to do, umconstitutional.
As to being blamed, way down here in the swamps, for some sumbitch being shot, way up there in New York State-somewhere, all Son of Cuomo has to do, is look at the fracturing mirror.
