Because it "made her feel uncomfortable".
Gay marriage wont affect you at all. Gay rights wont take away your rights at all. Remember those? Seems like a long time ago that the secular left was making those claims, when in fact its was only a few months ago. Before Sweet Cakes by Melissa. Before Memories Pizza. Before Kim Davis. And lets talk about Kim Davis for a second, because the secular left claims the issue with her is not her faith, but that she didnt do her job - an argument that implies that as long as she did her job, she could have exercised her faith all she wanted.
Well that brings us to Chris Rouston. Rouston had spent the past 13 years as a material handler for Middletown, Ohio-based Precision Strip, and he was well known for sharing his Christian faith with everyone at the company. So it was not unusual that he did so in the form of a message to a new employee, who happened to be lesbian. Rouston and this particular colleague got into a discussion - outside work hours over Facebook - about whether Christians hate homosexuals, and in an attempt to demonstrate that Christians do not hate homosexuals, Rouston - who lives in nearby Monroe, Ohio - recommended that she see the film Audacity, which was actually produced for the purpose of addressing that very issue.
And thats where Roustons trouble started, leading all the way up to his termination for making her uncomfortable:
Lawyer time.
There’s a lot of power in ‘feeling offended.’ And money.
Expect more of this as it was foretold it would happen.
Turn about is fair play. I will start pointing out that I am offended by commercials and show that have homos in them, like the new Expedia ad. I do not fly anymore but I damn sure will not ever use Expedia.
Firing somebody for practicing their “Religious Belief’s” outside the workplace sounds like one hell of a Civil Rights Lawsuit!!

The gay marriage/gay rights thing has never been about gay marriage or gay rights. Its about finding a clever way to effectively criminalize Christianity. You cant pass that straight-out bans the exercise of religion, but what the secular left has decided it can do is to redefine discrimination so that anyone who talks about their faith to others is essentially guilty of it. Now all you have to do is make someone uncomfortable and you lose your job.
Should I hold my breath until Governor Kasich speaks out against this outrageous firing?
The Obama DOJ sued a trucking firm on behalf of a bunch of Muzzies who were fired when they refused to deliver alcohol because alcohol is forbidden in their gutter religion.
This man should end up with a pile of money! The company has absolutely no standing.
I recommend dropping Jay Sekulow a line and keeping his number on speed dial, Mr. Rouston.
And don’t spend it all in one place, if you catch my drift...
And a tough-looking short-haired tattooed angry man-hating dyke doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable?
I came up with the term “Thought Control Commissars” to use in place of PC, it more accurately reflects reality.
“Firing somebody for practicing their Religious Beliefs outside the workplace sounds like one hell of a Civil Rights Lawsuit!!”
Especially when the “victim” friended them on Facebook, and remained in the conversation, online, for several hours.
Taste the rainbow.
A friend share a youtube video called The Harbinger. Lots has been foretold.
Good one. I’m going to use that on our HR Manager the day I leave.
As a side note, I have noticed more and more that atheists and anti-Christians are increasingly becoming “photosensitive” to any indication of Christianity, much as a movie vampire lashes out and shuns Christian crosses, Holy Water, and even consecrated ground.
Granted, this could present all sorts of opportunity for humor. But on a more serious note, it is becoming something like a self-taught phobia. And phobics can become unpredictable, even violent, when faced with the objects of their dread.
It is called “Christianophobia”, by the way. But unlike “Islamophobia”, it actually exists.
My first experience with HR was a little over a decade ago when I was working for a government contractor. The company who hired me lost the contract to a smaller, minority-owned company. The new company had to renegotiate all of our contracts and retain a certain percentage of workers within a few months, or lose the contract.
For about 3 weeks the HR lady assigned to negotiate with me refused to match my vacation time with my outgoing contract. That’s all I wanted...same pay and same vacation time and I’d be happy to stay in my seat. On our final phone call, she became so agitated and the true reason for her not moving on the vacation issue came out: “Look. If I don’t get it, you don’t get it.”
Needless to say, I resigned my position and moved on with the first contract company, as they offered to keep me on and find another contract for me. The new company retained about 15% of the seats and their portion of the contract went to the next bidder.
