Trump is a Liberal (Vanity)

Posted on 08/03/2015 9:23:24 AM PDT by demshateGod

I won't take a lot of time on this. Trump's liberalism is well documented: gun control, abortion, Sodomite rights, illegal immigration, giving to the Clinton Foundation, taxes, single-payer, not a sincere Christian, and whatever else you got.

He's a liberal. I will not vote for a liberal. People on FR are being duped by the media into nominating someone who turns off a huge chunk of the base. Even if Trump can pull in enough Low Information Votes to become president, the conservatives still lose.

I see Trump more as an EMT. He is administering emergency treatment and stabilizing the patient for transport to the hospital - where the doctor can start the long process of healing.

I’d say he’s a mixture. A quasi- libertarian, conservative with a little liberal mixed in. He’s getting people excited about voting. He’s taking some of the newspaper oxygen away from Hillary. He’s serving a purpose. As long as he doesn’t torpedo Cruz, I’m okay with him for stirring the pot. He’ll fizzle out when things get real.

Trump is a liberal.

Well, that explains why he's running as a Republican.

Thank you - that was going to be my reply. The media is duping us with Trump? Talk about a LIV - the media wants Bush. The poster sure has a bias, it’s tear down Trump so that you will vote for MY candidate. This is so juvenile.

Take the intellectual snobbery down a notch and tell whomever you are supporting to get off their ass and start talking like Trump, and maybe their numbers will be higher.

We are adults and are well able to let this guy say his piece and not have people that have no idea of his sincerity paint some grand conspiracy to try to sink his support in hopes that it will flow to the person you like better.

And I’m saying this as a Cruz backer.

I haven't been this excited about a primary debate. Ever.

I doubt we will see anything new, or learn anything, but this should be fun!

Quote-people being duped by Trump are equivalent to the people who were duped by Obama.

Low information voters.

Or duped by Jorge bush..

Because of his former positions, I am leery of him as a candidate. I do, however, support what his candidacy is doing. If you want to understand why Trump is on fire, read this. The New Battle Lines: Elitist vs. Us.

Trump is a self promoting BS artist who’s history of liberal ideas and leftist donations go way back. And no, he’s not like Reagan because he was “once a Democrat”. Reagan actually governed as a Republican, wrote and thought as a grounded ideological conservative, there was never a reason to doubt what Reagan stood for by the time he was in Presidential politics. Trump is not a conservative now and never has been. His temporary appeal to the populist right will grow old and stale, his endlessly angry gibberish that actually says very little about how he would actually do any of what he promises will wear thin soon enough.

The Trump clown show will come to end and he will not be the nominee, but in the meantime it seems like FR has turned into a Donald Trump for President forum. If you are saddened to see so many supposedly learned conservatives being suckered by the Trump snake oil, best to just take a break and let this silliness burn itself out. It will soon enough.

Trump is friends with many of the right people (Palin, Cruz, etc.) and has also pissed off all the right people (the entire GOP-E), so yeah, I’m good with him for the time being, much better than Hillary or the other Rats.

That's the choice.

Well, at least for the moment he's useful in stirring up the base with his bold attacks.

Cruz is the guy, IMO.

It is sad that so many are so desperate for revenge that they will back this man. Once in office, he will turn against conservatives and blast them in exactly the same way he is blasting the left on immigration....except it will be on gun control, gay marriage and abortion.

How do you know that, have you spoken with Donald personally about this?

All I'm saying is give the guy a chance.

Trump is no liberal—look what he says NOW—not 20 years ago when he was trying to make a living and please Liberal New York Political people. No way you can compare to Obama—Trump builds things up. He can ballance the books—Obama couldn’t run a hot dog stand. Trump may not be a “Pure” conservative—but he’s No Liberal—he’s a Capitalist and see the nation going in the wrong way. Lets see what he says in the Debates! Lets Judge him by these words!

Trump may well be a liberal, but he’s no more liberal than any other liberal in the GOP, and that is just about all of the GOP.

He might well be duping people, but that is what the GOP does, so if he is duping people, he’s running for the right party nomination.

And as far as Cruz goes, the candidate whom I support, it is up to him to make himself heard. It is up to him to find a way to connect with voters. If he cannot do that, then he won’t win.

If you say the right words, then you will be heard, if you don’t then you will be overlooked.

Yep, the media convinced me.

With glowing wall to wall coverage of The Donald, not a bad word to say about the guy.

I know they asked Cruz to denounce Trump and he refused.
