California Poll:
Do you think self-defense is good enough cause to be issued a concealed weapons permit?
This is a straight yes or no question, and it is getting a clear response. It is about 6-1 in favor of second amendment supporters at this time. The question is based on the resolution of the Peruta decision, which says, in a straightforward way, that the second amendment protects the right of a person to carry arms outside of the home for self defense. The result of the decision is that California permit applicants will not be denied a permit at the whim of the chief law enforcement officer of a jurisdiction. A number of California sheriffs have been to issuing permits on a "shall issue" basis for years, but the large urban centers in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco have consistently refused to issue nearly all permits, except for those politically connected.

No 14% (93 votes)
The Link for the poll is here
On line polls measure the ratio of those who are interested enough to answer an online poll. The results here are typical. Second Amendment supporters typically outnumber those who push for more restrictions by 3-10 to 1. In this case the ratio is now 6-1 ratio. This poll is asking a clear question about the legitimacy of self defense. Those who want more restrictions on guns must delegitimize self defense, or they lose.

Is life legitimate?
Take a 2x4 (or a 1 3/4 x 3 1/2) across their back and shoulders and then ask them. Because the anti-gunners don’t believe you have a right to self defense. They believe the govt has a monopoly on power, well aside from the poor disadvantaged criminals too.
I think you misunderstood what voting ‘No’ meant. Thinking like a liberal helps here. (Ya, I know...) The ‘No’ voters were thinking in terms of you not them. IOW they meant its not legitimate for YOU to CCW for self defense. It would be OK for them though. After all theyre more important and critical to society than you. Its the same thing w/ gun ownership. Liberals love guns. Their problem is that you are allowed to own them too. You cant be trusted but theyre beyond reproach. Got it?
Do you think self-defense is good enough cause to be issued a concealed weapons permit?
Think the Constitution already has that covered........
is there another reason?

The idea that the state ‘permits’ one to self-defend using a weapon of choice outside the home is the larger issue.
Gee....why not ask Rosie O’Donnell, Barbara Streisand, and all the rest of the Hollywood and media libs what their bodyguards’ guns are for then?
87% (779)
NO 12% (108)
Total votes 887
FReeped! ;-)
Yeah to shoot the bastards that don’t use their turn signals.
well yeah, there’s that I suppose.
—now 88% yes-—(5:35 pst ,13 nov)
The Constitution says nothing of permits and licenses for this, or any other of The Bill of Rights.
Eff the State.
In California?
Yeah, the liberal reason is for their bodyguards to protect them from you.
But you can't protect yourself from them.

I can’t think of one other reason for carrying than self defense. What is wrong with these people?
