Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Neither can I. Back when I first signed up, dozens upon noisy dozens of posters willfully bickering and squabbling with — essentially, trolling — this site’s founder and OWNER would have been considered unthinkable.
***I noticed it in 2000; FR suddenly became a ‘legitimate’ conservative website prior to the election. We were inundated with CINOs in 2000, 2004, 2008. Most of them thought this website was a republican website. Many still do.

If they were genuinely intelligent enough to teach (or even to simply train), they wouldn't be CINOs in the first place. ;)

Come election day, if there is no likely alternative, I will go with the one who might be (although unlikely) a conservative president over the one who will always be a Marxist president. And I would do so not "putting aside" my conservative priciples, but instead trying to meet my conservative principles, for my family, for my country and for future generations yet to be born.

***no, it’s pretty clear that to vote for a lying, baby-killing statist you’re putting aside your conservative principles. You can varnish it up to look all pretty, but it’s still a turd. To call it “meeting your principles” is to engage in simple bull shiite for reasoning.

It's pretty clear. Obama will continue the slaughter of babies. The other one who was an abortionist and who now claims to be pro life may or may not kill babies.

If the choice is binary between the two, I vote for the former.

Don't even try to understand chumly. You're not smart enough.

RepoGirl’s account has not been closed.

That's a shame.

Yes, I think that sometimes when someone presents a particularly vile and insulting opus, Jim leaves the account open just to make the person angry.

I mean, how annoying must it be to still be able to come back and post when you wanted to leave forever but can't help yourself and keep coming back to lurk?

You’ll still end up with getting either the Saltine or the Ritz, which both are quite different from getting exactly what you want: only flour and salt.
***You obviously did not understand the point. Flour and Salt are what we conservatives DO NOT want.

What exactly are you hoping to accomplish? Jim is entitle to HIS opinion and HIS vote. It’s disgusting that he’s being harangued for it. None of you have the right to try to force him to do something against his conscience. And that goes for the rest of us, too. Vote for Romney and leave us alone.

What she posted was foul and inexcusable... and note, please, that not even ONE of the 'botts, hereabouts, bothered to post a "No. That's inexcusable what you did, right there," in response. (Several, in fact, posted "You GO, Girl!"-type comments [!!!].)

And then spent all of yesterday and today mewling and sniveling about "haters" on Free Republic. [::shakes head, ruefully::] ;)

I have found another site, www.gopbriefingroom.com where conservatives will not be persecuted because of their religious beliefs and will hang out there for the time.
***Good for you. You figured out that Free Republic is not a GOP website. How long did it take you to realize that? Whachya gonna do if JimRob decides it’s like the TBL site and starts zotting dual members? Doesn’t this post of yours (as well as others on this thread) reveal that you’re more of a republican than a conservative?

Re: foreclosures...don't forget: Foreclosure mystery: Why can't conservative Utahns afford their mortgage?

Also, according to a July 2009 Salt Lake Tribune article Provo-Orem topped the state in foreclosure-related filings, which Utah metro area had the highest # of foreclosures? (Answer, the Provo-Orem area -- Utah County -- which "coincidentally" has the HIGHEST % of Lds concentration in the entire state!)

In fact this 2003 article says that 88% of this county is LDS! 88% of Utah County is LDS And the 2009 Trib article says: The Provo-Orem area is ranked No. 31 in foreclosure-related filings among more than 200 areas nationwide, a new report shows.

So the area w/88% Mormon population was for that time period actually ranked #31 nationwide for regional areas.

(Of course, the Lds church demands that no matter what is going on with your family economically, you still have to cough up 10%...otherwise...you won't get to watch your daughter or son get married in the Mormon temple...'cause you will lose your temple recommend...and you won't be eligible for "godhood"...because ONLY "temple" Mormons get that...and you won't get to be married forever -- or live forever with your family...'cause ONLY "temple" Mormons get that)...

There ya go...If Miff becomes Prez, the MSM will interview him constantly...or other Mormons...and sniff out these legalistic traits of Mormonism...and that will be what's presented as "THE face of conservatism"...legalistic crap like that.

It’s you who don’t get it. You are 100% assured of getning nothing other than those ingredients in the White House come January.

Wishing for something other will do you as good as putting on red shoes, clicking your heels, and wishing you were in Kansas.

It’s an exercise in futility to believe you can do otherwise and all you’re doing is helping put a Marxist back in to completely destroy this country by the end of his next term.

Sorry that you are too ignorant to realize that power is usurped all the time in representative republics. The German Republic of the 1930’s is only the most famous occurrence.

On March 23, 1933, the Reichstag assembled at the Kroll Opera House under turbulent circumstances. The position of the Centre Party, the third largest party in the Reichstag, turned out to be decisive. After Hitler verbally promised party leader Ludwig Kaas that President von Hindenburg would retain his power of veto, Kaas announced the Centre Party would support the Enabling Act. Ultimately, the Enabling Act passed by a vote of 441–84, with all parties except the Social Democrats voting in favor. The Enabling Act, along with the Reichstag Fire Decree, transformed Hitler's government into a de facto legal dictatorship.

On August 2, 1934 President von Hindenburg died. The previous day, the cabinet had enacted the “Law Concerning the Highest State Office of the Reich”. This law stated that upon Hindenburg's death, the office of president would be abolished and its powers merged with those of the chancellor. Hitler thus became head of state as well as head of government, and was formally named as Führer und Reichskanzler (leader and chancellor). Up until this point NOTHING that the Parliament and Hitler did was illegal or unconstitutional. The Night of the Long Knives, the Concentration Camps or the forcing of opposition leaders into prison, ALL PERFECTLY LEGAL under the Enabling Act of 1933.

Sorry you refuse to simply learn history. It is all there in black and white.

My objection to Romney’s well-known and undeniable history of abortionism, homosexualism, gun grabbing, revenue “enhancing,” liberal judge appointing, big government statism, etc, is not swayed by argument, no matter how well meaning.

Each of us must vote our conscience.

But it did prompt me to re-post this:

“That an exception to that should include “except Mormonism” in that disclaimer should make you cringe if you are a conservative.”

don’t equate being anti-Mormonism with anti-semetism. They are not remotely equivalent.

Thank you. Likewise. Not only is the freedom of OUR country at risk, but also the stability and ability for freedom-loving people all over the world to be able to stave off tyranny.

That would be the full-throated dream of the tyrant in the White House, the Muslim Brotherhood, Soros, and the whole evil lot. A world without a free America can NEVER be free. I’m willing to slow the bleeding rather than allow that to happen.

It will be a vote against Obama, for the #2 slot and a lot of prayer that it’s not too late.
