I dont get your reference to other scriptures written on metal plates. Please enlighten me. The Angel Moroni gave the Book of Mormon to Joseph Smith, written on plates of gold. So they say.

Lead would be a fairly logical choice for first century a.d. archives since it is soft enough to carve into and still virtually indestructible.
I'm willing to bet these are going to contain something very important. Maybe even a prophecy to beware of a mad man who will surface five centuries or so later.

Hopefully, scholars don’t keep them secret for 50 years like they did the dead sea scrolls.

So,your objection to these plates is their material, rather than the content? Is there a heirarchy that is preferred? I mean, is papyrus better or worse than leather?
Is having scriptures on my iPad somehow less sacred than having those scriptures on a hardcover bible?

“The metal tablets could change our understanding of the Bible “
I’d guarantee that they won’t. These plates, (whose existence is questionable) contain pictorial information. That will require translation.
We have ENGLISH translations of the Bible, and we can’t even agree on what THEY say.

How do they know these are even Scriptures?? Seems a little premature too me.
They could be coupons for all we know, it could read—buy three goats, get one free with the presentation of this coupon! Offer only good at Habib’s Goat World. Void where prohibited.

Didn’t this get dropped into the black liquid in The Mummy Returns?

But, you can look at the corrosion, and the packing materials, as well as the makeup of the wire. And, that is assuming we are talking about pure lead (which we are 99.9999% certain it is NOT). We can get a pretty good idea how old these are.
For example, we can tell where a sample of U238 was mined; by looking at the trace elements.

The usual suspects tried very hard to use the Dead Sea Scrolls to undermine Christianity.
It didn’t work.
I haven’t spent any time on them recently, but I did quite a lot of looking into archaeological research connected with the Bible at one time. In the end, some of it was very interesting, but didn’t really change anything.
If this latest find is real, I presume there will be similar efforts to undermine the Bible, and a similar lack of success. But there could be some interesting stuff, too.

The books sealed up until the time of the end - maybe?
The Oboma administration is helping the Muslim radicals circle Israel right now. Remember Rev. Write? He hates Jews and white people, and Oboma refereed to this man as his mentor. Oboma was also born and raised a Muslim. He obviously doesn't have protecting Gods chosen people on his mind.
Israel could easily be forced into giving Jerusalem to the Palestinian Muslims for peace at this time. Watch for that peace contract. It's right around the corner.

So,your objection to these plates is their material,Thanks for the response. I don't remember saying that I objected to these plates.

Looks like a book with seven seals along the top, right, and bottom. Open it up. What could possibly go wrong?

“predating the writings of St Paul”
“obviously a Christian image. There is a cross in the foreground”
IIRC the cross was not a Chirstian symbol at that time.

I wonder if they’ll keep it secret and twist it to say Christianity was a fraud?
