A tribute to fallen HEROES
from the staff and visitors at FreeRepublic.com, Freedom-USA.net, FreedomUSA.org and Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCoR)
During the course of this country's history brave men and women have stepped forward from time to time, answering the country's call to fight against would-be tyrants, dictators and despots, and to defend the individual freedom that is our birthright.
Many of these brave men and women have paid the ultimate price.
It is to these brave men and women of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine that we dedicate this page, and to freedom fighters everywhere and everywhen, in the hope that their sacrifice will not have been in vain.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET.
With heartfelt thanks to our fallen camrades for their sacrifice.
Please remember the fallen - but not forgotten

Due to the large number of personal tributes sent to me for inclusion in the Tribute, I am unable to re-post the entire page here. Click here or on the image below, to read the personal tributes posted on that page. The page will open in a new window, so you will not have to leave this thread.

For two years I worked at the Pentagon. Every time I had a few minutes of break I'd go to the Medal of Honor room. In that room was a write up of all the recipients and what they did to deserve this highest of honors. These are the best the world has ever known. I just wish their story was required reading for all American students. May GOD bless each of these heros and may they live for eternity in heaven. And Thank you to each .

I can't remember when it happened but these men some how found their way into my life. I don't know if they agreed with the war or wanted to be involved because I never had the chance to meet them. Today I remember them and their service.

Have you forgotten yet?...
Look down, and swear by the slain of the War that you'll never forget!...
Have you forgotten yet?...
Look up, and swear by the green of spring that you'll never forget!

My mom had two cousins who died in WW2.
One was killed by a sniper at Normandy. The other died on The Princeton.
Her brother was a navigator on a B-26 and my fathers brother was a GI in the Philippines campaign.
Were they heroes? No, they were just loyal Americans... a dying breed in 2002.
May God bless all veterans on this Memorial Day!

Neil... they had the traveling MIA memorial in our mall a few months ago... I walked through and just got all choked up. So many names, each one having an individual story, as yet still unknown...
