Cops are not there to protect you. They respond to crimes after they’ve happened.

That is correct. It is not a slur on LEO to acknowledge that. Realistically, what else can they do?

But militarizing LE and shredding the Bill of Rights while pretending that will enable cops to "protect" us is a complete and utter lie.

We should be allowed to protect ourselves as our Constitution intended, and the police should stick to catching criminals *afterwards*...if we haven't already taken them out.

Ehrmm... just a suggestion, mind, but how about adhering to their decades-long stated public policy emblazoned on so many police vehicles? You know, the mission "To Protect and To Serve"?

Or is that really asking too much, to even think of someone actually doing their job to form and to standard? You know, because that's what they are being PAID to do?

I remember reading where a guy was stopped for something and he said it was his Constitutional right and the cop responded that he’ll interpret the Constitution. I think it was either NJ or MO.
