Article title is actually just clickbait. The rest of the article is a badge polishing peice about how tough cops have it and if we don’t like the bad apples we need to change our politicians or some such. I will agree that the rot starts with the politicians, DA’s and judges but that doesn’t mean we should love their enforcers.
The article completely ignores the reasons people in general are turning against cops. Namely that they are unaccountable when they violate citizens, that those violations are becoming more common (or at least more well known), and that the “good cops” who are supposed to be the majority always support the bad ones.

These usual suspects also seem to want Democrats to win as well.

I have family that is LEO. I have a number of friends that are LEO. I tell them all the same thing: When the “good cops” stand up and speak out and DO SOMETHING about the “bad cops”, I’ll have much more respect. Until then, they are all “bad cops”.

My grandmother, who grew up on a Farm in Ireland and came over here about 1917 told me when I was a kid to avoid the police and priests.
She said it was for the same reason in both cases: they are never around when you need them, and when you need them to be elsewhere that’s the time they are breathing down your neck.
I wish she’d been able to see FR, I think she would have loved this place.
You forgot: shooting up Ford Ranger trucks driven by two latina women delivering newspapers because the JBTs were on a shoot-to-kill mission for a wanted black male.
The only thing I ask is that civilian law enforcement be held to the same standards and have to obey the same laws as every other civilian.
That means they should not be allowed to carry or use weapons that are prohibited to other civilians in their same jurisdiction. When off-duty they should have to have the same carry permit as anyone else would have to have.
When they shoot someone who’s just holding a cell phone or when they assault someone who’s getting them on video doing something wrong they should face the same justice that they would impose on anyone else.
And if they conduct warrantless searches then they should face the same consequences as anyone else who commits a felony act of breaking and entering.
I say all of this because how am I supposed to accept the notion of people who supposedly enforce laws that they’re exempt from?
I looked like a murderer/rapist and just happened to wander into the exact area where he was expected to turn up. They showed me the bulletin they were going by and about the only thing that didn’t match was the make of the car.
Cops are eldritch.
Cops are similar to Muslims in that the majority that’s supposedly good never seems to do diddlysh*t about the alleged ‘minority’ who are bad.
