Our Mission: The FReeper Foxhole is dedicated to Veterans of our Nation's military forces and to others who are affected in their relationships with Veterans. In the FReeper Foxhole, Veterans or their family members should feel free to address their specific circumstances or whatever issues concern them in an atmosphere of peace, understanding, brotherhood and support. The FReeper Foxhole hopes to share with it's readers an open forum where we can learn about and discuss military history, military news and other topics of concern or interest to our readers be they Veteran's, Current Duty or anyone interested in what we have to offer. If the Foxhole makes someone appreciate, even a little, what others have sacrificed for us, then it has accomplished one of it's missions. We hope the Foxhole in some small way helps us to remember and honor those who came before us.

That’s the problem with babies, puppies and kittens, they grow up:-)
Does she graduate this year, if I may inquire?

Steve found this last week, isn’t it great! I’d love to see it in person.
Sending out a prayer request to a lot of old freeper friends here:
My youngest daughter is dating a guy (Jeff) who is currently serving in Iraq. Couple of weeks ago Jeff’s convoy was hit by “something” we don’t have details still. What we knew is that his uniform was destroyed but he was back on the job in a few days. He was still having to see medics to have some shrapnel removed every day.
He was back to work 2 days ago and escorting another convoy. This morning, daughter received a message from one of Jeff’s buddies. They had to take Jeff into emergency for severe internal pain in his stomach and chest. He was evacuated and the buddies don’t know what is happening back on base at the hospital. (They are still on convoy.)
That is all the information that we have. He’s in a hospital, probably in Baghdad. Unknown problem. Unknown condition.
Thank you all for prayers. I know you are all prayer warriors for our troops.

Thanks for prayers. I know I missed some on my ping here cause I can’t remember who all I typed “to”.
But, Just heard from Myranda who just heard from Jeff in the hospital in Baghdad. Thankfully, his problem is not related to the wounding week before last. He has kidney stones. Myranda said he’s still in a lot of pain so I’m sure he appreciates your prayers in that also.
Thanks to all!
Wneighbor
Thanks for including me in the ping. We’ll keep Jeff in our prayers.
Kidney stones are no fun when they hit you when your well.
Sound like Jeff will be okay but kidney stones are no fun. Been there etc.
Will keep the lad and the daughter in our thoughts that all goes and ends well

Whew! Thank goodness although kidney stones can be bad too! Prayers for a quick recovery.
Oh my goodness, sending prayers for Jeff.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks for prayers!!! And also thank you for including me in the notification of Carton’s new book. I am excited about reading that!
God bless you all.
Thank you so much for thoughts and prayers alfa6. They are deeply appreciated!
Thank you for the bumps on this. It all helps.
Thanks Snippy. Myranda and Jeff do appreciate all prayers.
Thanks WCG! I’ve been working too hard to post very much recently but this bit of trouble sent me right in here for prayer help. We really are thankful for all of you praying with us on this.
Update on Jeff is that he is doing fine. He has passed a stone. He is still being watched in the Baghdad hospital but should be going back to the medical facility at his own base in 2 or 3 days.
We have now learned that kidney stones are pretty common in our soldiers over there. Seems they eat a lot of Tums for stress. They remain dehydrated much of the time due to the heat and the fact that most of them don’t like to drink a lot of water.
That’s sad news for our folks serving but it also means that the hospitals are well equipped and used to treating this.
God bless you all,
Wneighbor
Thanks for the update on Jeff. Nothing like trying to pass a golf ball through a soda straw:-(

Glad to hear he’s doing better. Internet troubles here in the Southland. Grrr. DSL has been up less than 10 minutes since Saturday!
I am trying to get a grip on my son as he leaves in two weeks to Afghanistan. He will fly drones out of the Brit Base. I
can not believe how strong he is, and is so supportive to us!
I find it so difficult. I can only cry for the other mothers
who feel as I do.
