Our Mission: The FReeper Foxhole is dedicated to Veterans of our Nation's military forces and to others who are affected in their relationships with Veterans. In the FReeper Foxhole, Veterans or their family members should feel free to address their specific circumstances or whatever issues concern them in an atmosphere of peace, understanding, brotherhood and support. The FReeper Foxhole hopes to share with it's readers an open forum where we can learn about and discuss military history, military news and other topics of concern or interest to our readers be they Veteran's, Current Duty or anyone interested in what we have to offer. If the Foxhole makes someone appreciate, even a little, what others have sacrificed for us, then it has accomplished one of it's missions. We hope the Foxhole in some small way helps us to remember and honor those who came before us.

The “kid” said she has gotten about 1/2 dozen compliments on the color. It is a deep blue, which doesn’t show up well in the pic.
The posts are cedar 4x4s. I only had to drill 24 3/8” holes 6+” deep and then drill 24 3/4” holes 6+” deep to mount all the posts. At least the blocks drilled easy.
I think it took me an hour to quit vibrating:-)

LOL. Should have shook off some pounds! I love the blue the way it shows on my computer, a deep sky blue for me. But then I remember I liked the color your wife chose for your house.
It's moving right along. C-day is the last weekend of the month. We just might make it. She won't be done, but will be campable.
Spiderboy takes a crack with a jigsaw.
Bittygirl helps tidy up.
Along the way, I smoked a router bit. The experience was (in my best Bill Murray voice) harsh!
Fender, wheel and tire selections are done.
A pile of doors. The hatch still needs to be skinned, but is nearly done.
A final look before all the "stuff" starts getting hung on her.
Lookin Good, Tell the Spiderboy and Bittygirl they are doing a good job.
Dad ain’t doin to bad himself, either:-)

It looks so pretty I’d hate to paint it!
Paint???
Soccer Blew!
No ma’am, no paint. The sides will get spar varnish, and the top will but done in cream color tonneau cover vinyl to match my car.
Oh fantastic. I thought you might have to follow some stupid regulation and paint it or cover it with something. I’m happy about it now.
Scout Stiff is another name for Working Stiff, aka Spiderboy.
The Princess Helper is Bittygirl's teardrop forum name.
Here we go:
Rose emerges from the cocoon.
At the campsite. We drove about 60 miles. Nothing fell/blew off. Whew.
The reason for the trip. This was the last "family" campout before Scout Stiff crosses into the Boy Scouts. The boys here are 6 & 7 yeas old, and getting a neat lesson in Flag ceremony.
The Stiff carving a mountain from a bar of soap.
The old fart carved a sailboat. By the end of the trip the boat had acquired gun ports, a stern gallery and poop deck and a forecastle.
Another view. I took more than a few shots like this. Its' sooo cool.
The cross slope was wicked. The left wheel here is up on a 4x4 block.
As you can see on the far wall, the 12 volt electrical is not done.
The Princess fell asleep early. Unfortunately we had the door open and she rolled alot. Right on out onto the ground.
The Princess shows off her soap "camera" and her Barbie fashion bandaids.
Excellent!
I saw a small teardrop that I think is for sale yesterday.
I gotta go have a look see.
You all have done well!
Cool beans. I'd like to hear the results.
Its a little one, very compact.
Just what I need for overnighters
Were did you get yer AC unit? are there AC units that will run on propane/Gas?
I don’t have A/C yet, just a fan in the roof.
I’m not sure if any gas fired A/C units are available. Most RV folks with built in A/C use a generator or shore power for them.
Oh. I thought that was a mini AC unit on the roof.
BTW close that vent lid before driving.
I learned the hard way
I figured that since they have Propane refrigerators(evaporative technology) They must have AC they does the same.
Prolly need a lot of batterys to run that compressor though.
I dont know what I was thinking.
I just want a set up that is as independent as possible for places without services.
I say ol chap, jolly good show:-)
Reckon ya need to have the working stiff build the Princess Helper a little roll bar that slips under the side odf the mattress:-)

A quick google search did not show any propane fired A/C units.
My first job after my extremely short stint at the University of Science, Music and Culture was at a laundromat and car wash. The first thing I had to do everyday was to go up on the roof and add water to the gas fired A/C unit coil. It had a small leak and the guy from the Gas Co said it would most likely take all day to fix it. So he soldered on a fitting to allow us to refill the coil till fall came and he could take the unit down for a day.

If you don’t mind me asking what did it cost and about how many hours to build the Compass Rose? Maybe my daughter that likes to build things would like to make one next year.
At least with a project like this we would not have the house, yard or something else all torn up for the summer:-)

Most of this technology has been around for a very long time
Many of the propane fridge units are being configured to run on electric as well.
I can agree on the self sufficient part. I have 120 volts wired in since many parks have it. I could always run on a generator (if I had one) when off the beaten path.
