Ron Paul's presidential campaign is getting cash infusion today from grass roots activists on the internet. The activists plan to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each, boosting the campaign by 10 million dollars in a day.
Whether the goal of 10 million dollars in a day is achieved remains to be seen. The campaign as of 10 PM Sunday night had risen just under 2.8 million for the quarter.
As of Monday, 9:30 AM Eastern time, Pauls campaign has risen over a million dollars bringing the total to over 4.1 million for the quarter.
Pauls campaign raised over 5 million in the third quarter and had over 5 million cash on hand at the start of this quarter.
The one day fund raising push is already a success and it hasnt shown any signs of losing momentum. Pauls campaign had nothing to do with the grass roots effort which makes it even more impressive.
Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war and says he will bring the troops home immediately. Paul seeks to eliminate federal income taxes and wants to reform the monetary system by authorizing competing currencies backed by gold and silver.
Paul also voted against the Patriot Act and has been an outspoken defender of the Bill of Rights.

“Although I’m sure most simply associate him with ‘V’ from V for Vendetta” I doubt that since most people haven’t even seen the movie. I certainly never associated Guy Fawlkes with the movie, indeed I am only vaguely aware of the movie. How do you know Paul choose the day because of Guy Fawlkes? It could be just a coincidence. Every day of the year is a holiday somewhere in the world, and frankly choosing a british holiday seems a bit obscure for an American politician, assuming he is trying to make a statement. Most people simply won't get it.

“Oh, one more thing, you do know that Guy Fawkes day in the UK is celebrated by burning him in effigy? “ yeah, the Brits don’t like Catholics. Oliver Cromwell and his round heads killed most of them in Briton and Ireland. Old animosities die hard.

The original November 5th website had ‘V’ images all over it and if you go over to the PaulForums, they were all dressing like V and praising him.

V for Vendetta is the movie of choice for the anti-American, Jews did 9/11, moonbat crowd.
In other words: Paul’s base.

This is really Dr. No’s Retirement Account. It boggles the mind that so many self-anointed “bright” people can be this gullible.

They honor a left-wing, terrorist...
Sorry to interrupt your little script but Guy Fawkes was a conservative Catholic monarchist terrorist from my understanding.

Paul does have enough money to be a real spoiler and catapult a liberal into the White House though. How? He's not running as a 3rd party or independent candidate.

You should buy a Volvo and some yuppie sandals and make your reservations to summer in Martha's Vineyard too.

There's also a Money Bomb for Paul on Veteran's Day, November 11th.
But I'm sure your next talking points will be that the veterans were Code Pinkers and Truthers.

This is really Dr. Nos Retirement Account. It boggles the mind that so many self-anointed bright people can be this gullible. He already has a pension from serving in the military and a private pension (Note: Not the lavish pension that greedy Congresscritters opt into) from investing some of his salary each year as a Congressman.
Look, why can't you guys just appreciate that there are ordinary folks out there that support him? All this talk about kooks and white supremacists supporting Paul, it's just sour grapes by those angry that people are starting to wake up and see what's going on in our gov't. Are you guys really mad that folks aren't gravitating to the other candidates and donating to them?

So, how much of this money is only pledges that never pan out? Hard to tell. Looks like Paul may get $3-5 million today. People are still at work so I expect more donations after 3 pm EST.
To: traviskicks
No thanks. Either Ron Paul gets his head right on our RETALIATORY war against radical Islam, or he can go back to his gyno practice in Texas...

None. This is all just online donations.
If you keep checking, the following graph will update dynamically. Ron Paul's campaign has followed Fred Thompson's prescription for campaign finance reform and posts fundraising totals live and you can catch the names and locations of the donors too.
You can find forty different live-updated fundraising graphs at:
RonPaulGraphs.com - Q4 Donation Statistics & Stuff
Ron Paul will pass $1.6M in a few minutes with only half the day over.
