More critique of the Republicans from the Libertarian perspective.

If this bird thought things were bad before, hold on to your hats, cause things are going to go downhill very fast. Bet he didn't think of that while writing his pulp piece.

Bush, of course, did well to lower the Capital Gains Taxbut does this temporary measure, easily repealed, offset the permanent harm done by an institutionalized Sarbanes-Oxley?
Sarbanes-Oxley is almost solely responsible for current wave of public companies being bought (often at only a modest premium) and taken private by filthy rich private equity groups (the elder Bush's Carlyle Group being just one of many such groups).
I'll go on record here with the following statement: when the privatization frenzy has quieted down, Sarbanes-Oxley will be repealed (or gutted) and the once-public, now-private companies will again be brought public as IPO's, at much higher prices than they were bought out for, producing stunning gains for the private equity groups. It's a long-term play, but if you've got billions of dollars in your coffers, you can afford to wait.
We're little grains of sand between the toes of the mega-capitalists and their political bed-partners...

All my life I've wondered why John Lewis will never vote for any Republican. Now I can die happy.

More critique of the Republicans from the Libertarian perspective....and they are right about this. What difference has the republican party shown over the last 4 years? Repubs have a chance now to get back to CONSERVATISM, and if they refuse why should anybody vote for them when they can vote for the real deal, dems offering NO difference in governing?
Republicans, blew it big time riding on the misconception wave of moderation with liberal scumbags and liars in the dem party!
Repubs, if you don't want to fight then, UP YOURS!

"In the upcoming election, I will not vote for any Republican. My reasons are based on those offered by philosopher Leonard Peikoff, and I agree with him completely."
I prefer the words of Eric Hoffer, "Free men are aware of the imperfection inherent in human affairs, and they are willing to fight and die for that which is not perfect. They know that basic human problems can have no final solutions, that our freedom, justice, equality, etc. are far from absolute, and that the good life is compounded of half measures, compromises, lesser evils, and gropings toward the perfect. The rejection of approximations and the insistence of absolutes are the manifestations of a nihilism that loathes freedom, tolerance, and equity."

And the suspicion increases that George Soros is bankrolling the Libertarian Party.

Wonderful exposition of why I used to be a Libertarian and now can't run away fast enough from those who still claim to be. Philosophically, Libertarians used to claim to be heirs of Ayn Rand, who for her many personal flaws, still understood that human beings are not perfectible and require aspirations higher than the pursuit of their base pleasures.
It is the project of the Utopian Left, not the conservative Right, to enforce a vision of perfection upon mankind through the agency of Government.
Republican politicians may be imperfect, they may even at times be fools, but they are not captives of an ideology committed to the destruction of Liberty in the name of a perverse concept of "Justice", which is not morally neutral but instead supremely dependent upon morality. I've concluded that Libertarians are more interested in the freedom to smoke dope, protect abortion "rights" and deny the existence of God than they are in the preservation of our Republic.

Oh, I remember the complaints in November..."The republicans aren't conservative enough, so I'm not voting for them" And, they finished it with "it won't matter if the democrats take control of congress" They continued "don't worry about the democrats winning the election, they'll be powerless to do anything, why they would never try to do something stupid like undermine the troops"
Oh, I remember it well.

People choosing not to vote republican is one reason today we say "Speaker Nancy Pelosi"
I hope all alternative and non-voters enjoy giving power to those who are the enemies of the best interests of our country.
