Why are we whining about serving God? All work is for God. It doesn't matter who does it and frankly if a man is willing to cut the grass, I'll be happy to do his laundry. It beats having an asthma attack from the grass.

I happen to live in a family where the men, for many generations, were waited on hand and foot and to the women in my family it was a great joy because they were treated well. There was food on the table, there were roofs over heads, everyone had clothes. And the women were, and still are, the bedrock of the family. Where there are problems among all of us is where the roles started reversing.

I just don't get it. If you want to be treated well and like a lady, act like one. It brings out the best in men. At least, that's been my experience. That means no treading on their ground.

You are more accepting of the status quo than I am.

Why is it everyone is so eager to put me down because I don't think exactly like the rest of you, but no one, not one, is willing to admit that some of what I say is true?

I am the product of a patriarchal family where things worked like they do in yours. I am the product of a patriarchal family with a father who finally realized that maybe it wasn't fair to expect the women to have to wait on the men like servants and why his beloved sister chose to walk a difficult way rather than kowtow to demanding, unappreciative men. I wish the churchman would acquire the wisdom given to my father. It wasn't like he sought to change anything other than his attitude. That's all I'm asking for. A change in attitude. Not in the way things are done.

From my dating experience I find that if a woman is coarse I'm more likely to act like a jerk (I do, sometimes, despite efforts to the contrary) but if a woman acts like a lady she'll find me to be a real good - respectful - man.
