Addendum: I would not take communion in a Catholic Church since I do not affirm the Real Presence doctrine and because I would not disrespect their stated beliefs.

I have been offered the opportunity to do so in the past (actually asked to co-celebrate a funeral mass with the priest) and declined for conscience sake. I stood and observed as this part of the funeral took place.
