I've been on Free Republic for a while, and I realize that I've never posted anything by the late Keith Green. I consider this teaching, "What's Wrong With The Gospel?", the most fundamental teaching necessary for the true "renewal" of the modern Western church. It is in fact, fundamental Christianity, although many in this time of apostasy will no longer recognize it as such. But to lovers of truth, who have never been exposed to Keith's teaching, you're in for a feast. Indulge. This is Part One of the Two Part Message. I will post a link to the second article in my next post.

Would be interesting to see the reaction to Green's four-part tract on The Catholic Chronicles

It is indeed sad that Melody and Last Days no longer finds "The Catholic Chronicles" worthy of publication, yet offers works by "mother" Theresa. Keith must be "turning in his grave".
That said, I think "What's Wrong With The Gospel?" is even more important to the future of the church because it deals with something worse than Romanism... an antinomian fundamentalism. In the video series of "WWWTG?", Keith said that when he wrote the Catholic Chronicles, he got 25% negative mail, but when he published this, it was 50%. Clearly, our biggest problem is not Romanism (bad as it may be).

I meant, Thanks for PINGING someone else to the article... LOL. Sorry for the confusion.

Is this guy an independent baptist?

No, Keith's ministry (Keith was a singer/songwriter as well as a well-known Bible teacher and missionary) was non-denominational. He was saved in the late 70's in the "Jesus Movement". Early on he attended a Vineyard congregation which, '"surprise", he clearly didn't fit in with. Last Days Ministries (the ministry Keith founded) eventually hooked up with Youth With A Mission, and Keith had many friends in the charismatic movement, although I don't think it ever really "took" with him. Keith often poked fun at both charismatics and fundamentalists. I do know for a fact that Keith didn't subscribe to a "Second Blessing" experience, at least not near the end of his ministry.
He was discipled by Leonard Ravenhill (of "Why Revival Tarries" fame). Are you familiar with him?

Wow, thanks for letting me know that I am not the only "heathen" that thinks this way. You start to feel crazy. We stopped going to church almost two years ago, now we feel outcast'd by everyone, family and congregation.
At least I know others think similarly.
