Well, now I know. I honestly thought it was one of those made-up words from the BOM. (like Kolob, etc.)

In the words of Rosanna: "Nevermind"

Thanks for the backup ftd.

Its good to let the statements stand. We are finally getting honesty from many mormons here about what they think of Christians and Christianity.

From whence does this sense of persecution come from?

I seem to remember a little massacre of a wagon train by a group of Mormons that killed over 100 hundred innocent people.

Mormons are teaching a false gospel and a false Christ.

No one is stopping you from stating what you want, but we Christians have a responsibilty to let people know that it is not Christian and will not save anyone (Gal.1:8)

I am confused my dictionary says-

cre·tin n. 1. A person afflicted with cretinism. 2. Offensive Slang. An idiot. –cretin·oid adj. –cretin·ous adj.
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Third Edition

So what's the beef Joseph Smith, has been called worst?

There is much missing from your simple post on MMM like how did those innocent people get caught in the middle of this tragedy?

That happen in 1857 after decades of being hounded off the land that LDS have set up and made the land profitable where it was desolate.

Neighbors around the area were fearful and envious of how dilligent the LDS were in exercising free enterprise.

So they needed to run the Mormons out the country and the LDS ended up in Utah a Deseret.

Yet the mobocraty were still were intent on destroying everylast Mormon.

Do you think many of the LDS could have felt they were living in unfavorable circumstances FTD? Like between a rock and a hard place?

All feel very bad for the lost of those innocent folks and they were told before hand do not take that route, because of the tentions in the area.

They ignore good advice before they traveled in the area. Sady they were mistaked for who were chasing the Mormons.

Today the story has been rehashed many times and spun many ways to suit the storie teller. Even much has been embellished to an already horrible disastrous event.

Now in the history of the Momons, they have NEVER been known to go after or to initiate confrontations!

I used Meriiam Webster Online

Yes, Smith has been called worse - does that justify treating each other similarly, or should we excersize some restraint and judgement?

Ecc 5

Ecclesiastes 5 Stand in Awe of God 1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong. 2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. 3 As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words.

I would respectfully point you towards the Congression testimony of Maj Carrelton in regards to Mountain Meadow - even Gordon Hinckley admits the LDS involvement.

They were making the journey to the West. Don't blame them for the murder the Mormons did. Remember, they were the victims, not the ones who did the crime.

All feel very bad for the lost of those innocent folks and they were told before hand do not take that route, because of the tentions in the area.

So the fact that the Mormons couldn't control themselves isn't a problem. Once more it the victim's fault they were murdered by the Mormons.

They ignore good advice before they traveled in the area. Sady they were mistaked for who were chasing the Mormons.

What? These people were camped and were told that they would not be harmed. When they let their defenses down, the Mormons slaughtered them. There was no mistake about it.

Don't try to minimize what happened.

I am glad you were there Wrigley to fill us in on what really happen.

You only have one side to this issue and it has been taken from a Horrible Tragedy to be milked to stir up more contempt towards the Mormons. Until words like yours and apostates someday escalates to the point of killing of more LDS. You may not be a descendand of those who killed the prophet or try to EXTERMINATE the LDS, forcing the LDS to flee across country, but you might as well be!

If I was leading a people across country and was told to stay away from an area that was very intents that the Mormons were living under the threat of extermination. I would stay clear and not put those folks in harm way!

Not all have the Mormons were able to have their wits about them John Lee was living a natural man thing, and not listening to the councle of the Lord. Yes he was a Mormon but he was acting ON his OWN.

Don't bother arguing with them about it, restornu. This is their precious wad; it's all they have, and it's all they're going to play.

It's a dead issue, and pointless to even discuss.

What I'd LOVE to hear from him--but never will--is a discussion of how according the OFFICIAL RECORDS AND DOCUMENTS in the states of Missouri and Illinois, the sacred Constitutional rights of thousands of men, women and children living in the "Mormon" settlements in those states were systematically exterminated and driven from their homes, without so much as criminal charges being filed, nor due process being served.

No, they don't want to talk about that because, deep down inside, they think it justified. They would do it to "Mormons" again in a heartbeat, if they thought they could get away with it. The hate in their hearts is so palpable you can feel it.

Instead, they'll snub an issue concerning these THOUSANDS of people, an issue that was NEVER resolved by the authorities, and for which NOT ONE INDIVIDUAL was ever brought to justice by the courts of this land, in favor of a gruesome murder where justice WAS served, and the whole matter laid to rest.

You see how they are? And don't expect anything different, because it's not going to happen. Thus forever is the "secret combination", and Satan is at the center of it.
