Thank you, TotusTuus. If you took a look at our American bishops, collectively, and averaged their beliefs together, what would their rating on the heresy scale be today, in your opinion? The reason I ask is that I've been confronted with incredible things in recent years (apart from the homosexual molestation scandal and the Church hierarchy's response to it). As an example, last year my parish priest told me that he didn't believe Christ was born of a virgin, because that would have dampened people's understanding of the holiness of sexuality. More recently, I've found a number of things in our son's catechetical Confirmation materials which disturb me. But these are just two of many, many such things.
