I have a message that father_elijah sent my father some time ago which says that Cardinal Egan was not a man to be trusted in any circumstance. I know that Cardinal Egan ordered the shut down of the exorcists some months ago for a period of three years.
This isn't just about Cardinal Egan being a beaurocrat. This is about Cardinal Egan being a witting or an unwitting accomplice to evil.

I knew I disliked that man the minute I saw him. I wish he and Bishop Murphy would go back to whatever place they came from.
New York needs good Catholic leaders like John Cardinal O'Connor. Too bad the pope didn't think so.

Maximilian hit it on the nose in post #26.
Prayer and fasting, along with fidelity and vigilance.
The Prayer to St. Michael is sooooooo powerful. It is an evil act that shelved its recitation. I remember in the '50s saying it after every Mass, and as part of rosaries and devotions and novenas. We need it now more than ever.
But let US not lose faith, brothers and sister. Does anyone recall the history of the Arian Heresy. At one point, nearly 97% of the bishops were of Arian or semi-Arian persuasion. Just the Pope (St. Damasus I) and a scattering of faithful Bishops (3%) and Deacons defended the faith as we know it.
John Paul II is our Pope, the Vicar of Christ; in union with him through the Power of the Holy Spirit, we will persevere.
